Jayden eventually gave up, whistling a random tune the way he always did when he was born.
-
Chester walked to his room.
-
Jayd followed, sitting on the foot of Chester's bed.
-
Chester sat at his desk. It was covered with papers, and there was an ink pot with a quill resting on the edge. Chester grabbed the quill and started pouring over his work, not minding Jayden being in the room.
-
Jayd raised an eyebrow, walking to Chester to look over his shoulder. "What are you doing?"
-
'Work,' Chester responded. 'You don't?'
-
"Yeah, just not normally with guests." Jayden shrugged, trying to read Chester's handwriting.
-
'Huh,' Chester mumbled thoughtfully, then turned his attention back to his work.
-
Jayd looked at the paper more. "You sure that's work?" He said as he read it. "Because either I'm horrible at reading your handwriting or that's more entertaining than boring politics."
-
'It's statistics of the city,' Chester said, looking at all the graphs and percentages. 'Economics, happiness, health, things like that.'
-
"Fuuun. And how is the economy?" Jayd asked mostly just to keep the conversation going.
-
'Doing well. I didn't think you were interested in that kind of stuff.'
-
Jayden shrugged. "I didn't think I was either." He chuckled, looking at the bookshelves.
-
Chester signed off on a couple things, before analysing the graphs. 'You don't have to watch me work, you know,' he said.
-
"I know." Jayd absentmindedly grabbed a notebook from the shelf. "Do you mind if I read this?" He asked, already opening it.
