Jayden opened the door for him.

Chester walked out. He was thankful Jayden had opened the door for him because it would’ve been very hard to with wings.

Jayd looked at Chester. "If it makes you feel better, you don't look bad with orange hair." He tried to keep Chester and himself happy by joking around a lot that morning.

‘But I don’t look good, either.’

"Yes you do!" Jayd chuckled. "Honest!"

Chester sighed. ‘This is so humiliating,’ he mumbled.

Jayd thought a bit. "Do you feel any different than yesterday? Maybe that could be the reason why you half-shifted."

‘I have a headache and my skin feels tingly,’ Chester offered.

Jayden frowned, still thinking of reasons. He didn't rule out the headache and tingly skin symptoms. "Hmm... Maybe it's because we stayed up so late?" He doubted it, but it wasn't impossible, he supposed.

Chester shook his head. ‘I’d know if that would happen.’

"Maybe it's something you ate, then?" Jayd kept thinking.

‘Definitely not.’

Jayden frowned, trying to think of more things it could be. "Ooo, I got it: This is all a weird-ass dream." He gave a dry laugh.

A weak smile tugged at the corners of Chester’s mouth. ‘I wish.’

Jayd looked at Chester. "We'll figure out what it is." He promised.
