Chester moved his hand down to his waist. He closed his eyes.

Jayden blushed, relaxing. He fell into a light sleep.

Chester did the same a few minutes later.

Jayd didn't realize it until he woke up, but when he slept he moved closer to Chester and grabbed on of his hands.

Chester squeezed his hand tight in his sleep.

Jayden eventually woke up late-ish in the morning. He realized they held hands in their sleep and blushed, but didn't let go.

Chester stirred a while after. His arms flickered orange and red, feathers growing out. His hair turned the colour of a phoenix. He woke up with a headache and a strange feeling in his limbs.

Jayden noticed the whole thing, eyes widening.

Chester looked down at his arms. He yelped and jumped up. His arms were now full phoenix wings, and feathers were in his hair, but he didn’t turn into a full phoenix. ‘What the f---!’

Jayden looked up at Chester, backing up so he'd have some space. He just shrugged. "I don't know what happened!"

Chester tried to turn himself back. He closed his eyes but his headache just got worse. He turned into a fish, then a cow, then a human with cat ears and a tail in a matter of 2 seconds.

"I don't think it's working." Jayd said quickly.

Chester looked at himself in the mirror. He was a shirtless furry. His tail whacked himself in the face. He rubbed his temples. ‘This can’t be happening.’

Jayden followed. "It's ok. We'll try and fix this. Do you have any books about shape-shifting flops or something?"

‘No. It never happens. It shouldn’t happen!’ Chester exclaimed.
