"Give the others to Patton as a bonus or something." Jayden shrugged. "Or Maeve to congratulate her on doing a prank that doesn't involve Vaseline."

‘Patton hates the theatre. I remember him telling me something about how in his day, it was grand and magical,’ Chester said, trying to mimic the chef’s Italian accent. ‘And I doubt Maeve could sit still for two hours at an opera show.’

Jayd laughed. "Fair enough." He shrugged.

‘Eh, buying an extra two tickets didn’t make me any less rich,’ Chester said with a playful grin. In reality, he’d made sure that all four were the best seats in the theatre, which actually made them very expensive for pieces of paper. But he didn’t mind if it meant Jayden was happy.

Jayden smiled. "Thanks, love." He kissed Chester on the cheek.

Chester smiled. He kissed Jayden’s neck. ‘Only the best for you, darling. Even if it means I’m sappy,’ he added with a roll of his eyes.

Jayd chuckled. "I love you."

‘Love you too, Jayden,’ Chester said, kissing his forehead.

Jayden blushed, wrapping an arm around Chester.

Chester grinned and picked him up again, this time bridle-style. ‘So where too, darling?’ he asked, laughing softly.

Jayd blushed more, too flustered to make a response that wasn't just stuttering.

‘Your room it is,’ Chester laughed. He kissed Jayden’s cheek and started walking. ‘Don’t drop your flowers.’

"I-I would never." Jayden said, trying to stop himself from stuttering.

‘Good,’ Chester said with a goofy grin. He carried Jayden up the stairs, careful to keep a steady grip on him.

Jayd held the flowers tightly with one hand and Chester with the other so he wouldn't fall.
