Jayd waved, laughing.
-
Chester walked into the castle. He wasn’t accompanied by guards, and had run into journalists more than he would’ve liked. Without Jayden with him he’d struggled to stay calm and at some point hid in an alleyway until the reporters went away.
-
Jayd walked into the library, figuring he could meet Chester there unless he showed up at lunch.
-
Chester wasn’t sure where to find Jayden. He quickly used the library bathroom, which was closest to the castle’s back entrance, and came out grumbling about annoying teenage girls. His hands were bright red.
-
Jayden heard Chester grumbling about it and laughed, meeting up with him.
-
Chester noticed Jayden walking towards him. He smiled. ‘Hey, love,’ he said, kissing Jayden’s forehead. He held a bouquet full of colourful flowers, slightly crumpled but not too damaged.
-
Jayd blushed, looking at the flowers. "So charming." He chuckled. "How's your morning been, beautiful?"
-
‘Could’ve been better. Got jump-scared by a couple journalists, but fine,’ Chester said with a chuckle. He held out the flowers. ‘These are for you.’
-
Jayden took the flowers, grinning. "Stupid journalists." He muttered. He didn't want to mention the article to Chester, not wanting to be the person to break the news and also wanting to will it out of existence.
-
‘Yeah. They kept saying something about some article,’ Chester said, trying not to sound too worried. ‘Do you think they’ve found out more about your situation?’ He hated referring to Jayden’s problem like that. He knew - or at least, he was sure - that Jayden had done nothing wrong.
-
Jayd winced. "Uhm-yeah, they... They know." He tried to think of something to divert the attention away from the journalists. "So, you like me and Maeve's prank?" He asked, pointing to Chester's red hands.
-
Chester noticed this, but he said nothing more about the reporters. He didn’t want to make Jayden upset, so he looked down at his hands and laughed. ‘This was you?’ he asked, trying to rub it off.
-
"Yup." Jayden did a little bow, chuckling. "That was me."
-
‘God, I look like I’ve murdered someone!’ Chester laughed, trying to rub it on his clothes. It didn’t work.
-
"If anyone asks, this is what you do to journalists who get too nosy." Jayd joked.
