"Everyone in my kingdom is human, so most of the servants have a roommate." Jayden said, curious to hear more about the castle since it was so different than what he was used to.
-
'Interesting,' Chester said, though he sounded rather bored.
-
"You don't like this conversation, do you?" Jayd said, noticing the bored tone. It wasn't one he was used to hearing, he was more used to the concerned: 'Oh my god you're going to murder us all' Tone of voice.
-
'Huh?' Chester hummed. 'I wouldn't take it too personally.' He didn't care much for the interaction, nor did he feel inclined to make it more interesting.
-
"I wasn't." Jayden said, looking around more. He wanted some kind of reason to keep the conversation going, but didn't find anything worth mentioning.
-
After a minute or two they got to the guest room. Chester opened the door and walked inside. The room was fairly large, with a big bed in the middle of the far wall and a large room. The luggage had already been brought, and the suitcases were set neatly in a corner.
-
Jayden jumped onto the bed. "Ooo, the blankets super soft!" He approved, snuggling deeper into the sheets.
-
Chester raised his eyebrows. 'Good to hear,' he said, trying not to sound too confused.
-
Jayden nodded, sitting up fully. "So when are we supposed to talk about the treaty and all that boring stuff?"
-
Chester found politics quite interesting, so he gritted his teeth before answering, 'We can discuss the terms whenever. It must be signed by both of us on your last day here,' he said. He glanced at Jayden's luggage. 'I'll leave you to unpack.'
-
Jayd shrugged. "There's not much to unpack, just clothes." And weapons in case things go south. He thought, but didn't say that out loud. After all, what's the point of having secrets if you said them within the first day of meeting someone?
-
'Right. Well, we're arranged to have dinner together in the gardens, so do with that what you will. Lunch is at 12 o'clock on the dining hall, you can ask a guard for directions,' Chester said, and stepped out of the room.
-
"Alright." Jayden said before Chester left, looking around the room. "What sort of chaos can I cause today?" He mumbled to himself.
-
Chester walked down the hall, thinking what an either horrible or interesting month this would be. He walked around his maze of a palace before walking inside the library. It was one of the largest rooms in the castle, and was lined with towering bookshelves.
-
Jayden looked through his stuff, finding a bag of rope. "Maybe I could use this for something?" He murmured, untangling it.
