Chester walked to the back door of the castle. He grabbed his coat off a hook. ‘Would you be ready to make our relationship public?’ he asked causally. ‘It’s absolutely fine if you’re not.’

Jayd nodded. "I'm ready." He blushed slightly.

‘Are you sure? What about those weird chairmen trying to take the throne away from you?’

Jayden shrugged. "I'll find a way to get them to calm down about it or something."

Chester pursed his lips. ‘I’ll sort it out,’ he said, kissing Jayden’s forehead. ‘Let's go.’

Jayd blushed, following him with a grin.

Chester smiled. He grabbed his hand, then left the castle grounds through a side door. He didn’t need the whole kingdom to know he and his boyfriend wereleaving the castle.

Jayden blushed more, interlacing their fingers together.

Chester grinned, blushing a little. They emerged into the kingdom. There were a few people at work or bustling about. A child looked at Chester and pointed, then the kid’s mother scolded her without taking a glance at Chester and Jayden.

Jayd chuckled softly, leaning his head on Chester's shoulder.

Chester smiled. He kissed the top of Jayden’s head and kept walking. A few citizens gaped as they passed, recognising them both. Nobody had come up to them yet, but Chester knew that soon the jOuRnALiStS would shouting questions at them.

Jayden tried to pretend he didn't notice the citizens reactions, even though he found them incredibly amusing. Thankfully he didn't notice any of them act too nuts about it, but he knew a couple jOuRnALiStS would.

Chester wrapped his arm around Jayden’s waist. ‘Don’t pay any attention to them,’ he murmured in his ear. ‘It only makes them stare more.’

"I know, I know." Jayd nodded, his voice hushed. "This isn't my first time, beautiful."
(Gonna go for a bit, but I'll be back!) -

‘I know, love, but it’s your first time in the midst of people who prey on your species,’ Chester said. He was half teasing, but he knew that the lack of guards around them might be dangerous. ‘Vampires are strange people.’
