Chester was silent for a few moments. He twisted the chain of his pocket watch around his pinky finger. ‘Because my ex-girlfriend, who you know has a history of doing non-consensual.. things.. kissed me?’

Maeve nodded. "And some people were following, asking how much we knew about you and her." She fidgeted with one of her bracelets.

Chester sighed, sitting back in his chair. The metal dug into his pinky. ‘I’m sorry, Maeve. To you and to Jayden. But you know I didn’t want that, right?’

Jayden pulled the pocket watch away gently. Maeve gave a small nod.

Chester looked down at his hands, letting him. ‘How about we throw another one? For Christmas, or Jayden’s birthday…’ he said weakly.

"Maybe." Maeve said half-heartedly. She'd had her fill of parties for a while.

‘O-Or your birthday in February… That’s in a few months, though..’

(February in my opinion is the best month bc it’s shorter but you have TrAuMa so fair enough lol)
‘Ok, ok,’ Chester mumbled. He didn’t know how to make it better. -
(February is the worst month the only worse month potentially is November (which if I remember correctly is when Jayden's birthday is LMAO) but that's bc of PoLitiCs and bc everyone celebrates Christmas way too early- Dude February was so oddly traumatizing like guys I don't know if I can go back to DisneyWorld without getting reminded of it lowkey)
Maeve eventually looked away from the floor and up at him. -
(Ok man honestly I don’t have a least favourite month because they’re too long lmao (it issss) Christmas should only start being celebrated after November 25 (not including shops and stuff) because then you pretty much have a month of celebrate it- I don’t know what you’re talking aboutttt but as someone who’s never been to Disney world it tends to be a very trauma-inducing place)
Chester’s eyes were glued to his watch. He twisted the chain around his hand, then untwisted it, then around his fingers. He felt like a horrible brother and boyfriend. -
(Fair enough (phhht oh nooo) real, I hate American Thanksgiving so much but it should be the day Christmas decorations are set up because it's just smarter instead of celebrating it immediately after Halloween- I can talk about it in private, just not on here lol)
"Stop." Jayden mumbled, holding the chain. -
(Idrk what thanksgiving is honestly lmao, we don’t do it here obviously but I hate it when holidays are so close together it means more events and people (especially here we get a s--- ton of tourists around new years) fair enough tho- if you want to talk about it now or at any time just message me on Goodreads lol)
