Maeve looked at her, silently asking her to eat faster.

Lavender glanced at her and ate a little faster. She didn’t want to get stomach cramps.

Jayden finished his food after a moment. "Will someone please explain what's going on?"

Chester shrugged, looking down. Lavender looked at Maeve, silently asking if she should tell him.

Maeve looked angry, but gave a small nod and went back to staring at her empty plate.

Lavender looked at Chester. ‘She’s mad about you kissing your rat’s ass ex girlfriend last night,’ she said, probably quoting Maeve.
Chester blinked. That definitely didn’t make him feel any worse. ‘That- That was non-consensual! A-And Jayden forgave me…’ -
"All we saw was you kissing her back." Maeve mumbled. Jayden looked down, pulling at his sleeves nervously.

Chester was silent for a moment. He twisted the chain of his pocket watched around his fingers so the metal dug into his skin. ‘Is that really what it looked like?’

The room was dead silent. Lavender looked very uncomfortable.
Jayden noticed him digging the chain into his palm. "Stop that." He mumbled, taking the chain and untwisting it. -
Chester looked down at his hands, watching Jayden untwist the chain. ‘The headlines are going to be fun,’ he muttered, standing up and leaving the dining room, leaving Jayden and his half finished food.

Lavender and Maeve disappeared soon after. Jayden ran after Chester.

Chester was sitting in the corner of his room, nestled between the bookshelf and the walls, head in his hands.

Jayden walked in his room. He saw Chester, and wanted to say something to make him feel better. Something about forgiving him, about loving him.
He wasn't sure that would make it better thought, so instead, he sat next to Chester. -
Chester sniffled, leaning against him. ‘I’m sorry.’

"You didn't do anything." Jayden mumbled.
