Jayden beamed.

Chester kissed the side of his head. They got to the dining hall and Chester opened the doors.

Jayden walked through the doors. "Thanks."

‘You’re very welcome.’ Maeve and Lavender were already there.

Maeve looked up, giving Chester a small glare. Lavender tried to distract her by playing with her hands.

Chester frowned slightly, but tried not to think too much of it as he sat down opposite them. ‘G’morning.’

"Morning." Maeve mumbled, looking down at her hands. Jayden frowned, leaning into Chester.

Chester held onto Jayden’s hand tighter. ‘So, uh, did you two have fun at the party last night?’

"We left early." Lavender answered before Maeve could with a small shrug.

‘Ah, alright. Fair enough,’ Chester said. Their food came.

Lavender nodded, squeezing Maeve's hand and looking at her to make sure she was okay and not incredibly pissed off- she was the former- before grabbing her plate. Jayden grabbed his as well.

Chester thought it was strange Maeve and Lavender had left the party. Maeve had been begging him to throw one for years. He didn’t say anything, though, and grabbed his plate. Maeve shot at glare at him.

Jayden started eating, leaning into his boyfriend.

Chester smiled, kissing the top of his head and eating too.

Jayden smiled back. Maeve just seemed to get even more upset because of that. Lavender noticed, pulling her close and trying to calm her down, or at least distract her.
