‘No you don’t, I love you the most.’

"No you don't! I'm the one that dropped everything to see you."

‘You didn’t have to! I didn’t ask you to, I didn’t even know Oliver sent that letter since until this morning!’ Chester complained, hugging him close.

"I know, I know, I was teasing, sorry." Jayden chuckled, kissing the top of his head.

‘I know,’ Chester mumbled, snuggling closer. ‘I’m glad you did come, though. And what did you mean, you have to be well behaved to leave?’

"Well, I wouldn't be allowed to leave and spend time with you if I was causing mayhem in my castle beforehand."

‘What, you had to ask permission?’ Chester asked, frowning.

"Well yeah, they didn't know how long I'd be gone."

‘That’s dumb. Just hold up your crown and go “I’m king motherf---ers, get out of the way”,’ Chester said, chuckling.

Jayden chuckled. "Fair enough. I mean, if they said no, I'd still go it's just... Formalities, I guess."

‘Fair enough,’ Chester chuckled. He rested his head on Jayden’s lap, then reached up and booped his nose. ‘You’d look hot in a crown.’

Jayd smiled, playing with his hair. "Knowing me I'd forget I was wearing one after a bit and it'd end up falling off my head and shattering." He'd worn a crown before, just usually for quick meetings and celebrations, not for more than an hour.

‘Still. I want to see you in a crown,’ Chester said, leaning into his touch.

"Fine, but only if I get to see you in one too." Jayden smiled.
