'Absolutely not!' Hazel snapped. 'And besides, you don't know where it is.'

"Lemme guess, it's on the drawer I'm not supposed to touch?"

Hazel's eyes widened. 'No,' she said in a voice a few octaves higher.

"I knew it!" Theo laughed. "But seriously, I won't touch it."

'You better not,' Hazel said through gritted teeth.

Theo raised his hands in surrender. "I swear I won't."

'Good,' Hazel said, trying not to look too relieved.

"I mean, you looked like you'd kill me if I looked." Theo chuckled, curious to know what things would be in the journal that made it worth so much to her.

'I would.'

"Geez, what on earth is worth that trouble?"

'My journal,' Hazel huffed.

"Well DUH." Theo chuckled before realizing Hazel wasn't laughing. "We can change the subject if you want."
