Theo didn't want to break the kiss. He wanted to stay with her forever. But eventually, he did break the kiss, opening his eyes with a sad smile.

Hazel opened her eyes, looking up at him. She forced a sad smile, but her eyes were welled with tears.

Theo noticed, sighing softly. "It's ok, I'll see you soon. You won't even realize I'm gone." He murmured, trying hard to sound convincing, trying to get himself to believe it, too."

Hazel rested her forehead on his shoulder, sniffling. ‘It’ll be so long..’

"No, it won't. I'll make sure of it." Theo murmured. "I promise."

Hazel sighed softly, looking up at him, tears streaming down her cheeks. ‘I love you.’

Theo wiped her tears away. "I love you too." He said weakly, voice sounding like it was close to breaking.

Hazel’s heart sank when he begun to cry. She leaned into his touch, hands cupping his cheeks. ‘Please don’t cry,’ she said in a weak voice.

"Hey, you don't cry either." Theo murmured, holding her close.

Hazel whimpered, burying her face in his shirt. Her dad called to them from outside the car. ‘Kids, we should get going now or we’ll miss Theo’s plane.’

Theo kissed the top of her head. "I'm so sorry, but he's right." He murmured, pulling away to unbuckle his seatbelt.

Hazel nodded. She pulled away and wiped her eyes, doing the same.

Theo opened the car door, walking out with a sigh.

Hazel did the same, looking down at her shoes.

Theo looked at her with a weak, sad smile.
