"he's.... At the new place. He's currently out on business. He's finding someone to make hearts for everyone here." John said. Florence mimicked the shriek of a hawk right before it divebombs a small mammal. "THE HEART IS MINE!" Florence shouted as his claws seemed to glow and his eyes went Black.
-
Collins winced. 'Florence, calm down, please,' she said, clenching the strap of her satchel.
-
"HE'S TRYING TO TAKE THE HEART FROM ME!" Florence yelled, completely enraged. "Go get the heart, if you play it he'll calm down!" John ordered as he backed away from Florence slowly. Occasionally he'd jump or bolt forward which made Florence flinch but the old man never broke eye contact.
-
Collins ran into Florence's room and looked for the heart. She spotted the box next to the old hospital bed and picked it up, then opened it. She hurried back to where John and Florence were and played it.
-
Florence flinched away from the heart. "STOP!" Florence screamed as tears streamed from his eyes. "Let me be mad. Let me be frustrated." Florence sobbed as he fell onto a wall and slid down. He pulled his knees to his chest and held them with one set of his arms and wiped his tears with his other hands.
-
Collins turned her gaze from the sobbing Florence to John, not sure what to do. She put down the heart and sat next to him, tentatively putting a hand on one of his arms. It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do while he was mad, but she'd feel like a jerk if she didn't at least try and comfort him. 'Are you okay?' she asked quietly, which was kind of a stupid question, but still.
-
"I know he's lying to me. He has to be. I heard you two earlier." Florence said, sobbing.
-
Collins watched Florence for a moment. She glanced at John, then back at her friend. She cautiously put an arm around Florence's shoulders. 'Try to calm down, okay? It's hard to think straight when you're too upset. I'll turn off the heart if that helps,' she said softly.
-
"NO!" Florence shouted before using one of his hands to scratch at the wall. John watched Florence cautiously. Florence mimicked a harsh note on a violin.
-
Collins leaned back against the wall, rubbing his shoulder with her thumb, before pulling her arm away. 'That's okay. Just try to calm down,' she said softly, crossing her legs.
-
Florence continued to scratch at the wall until he pulled out a chord and started to chew on it as he sank to the ground. "So the electricity still runs here." John observed.
-
Collins nodded, worrying about Florence as she watched him. 'Strange, since nobody's been paying the bills.'
-
"this is far more complicated then I thought. I know obsidian is behind this somehow." John said. Florence flinched at the mention of obsidian and stuck his face to the wall.
-
'Behind what, exactly?' Collins asked, looking up at John. 'The electricity, or something more?'
-
"the electricity, the loss, even your presence here is probably in some part due to him. Obsidian was obsessed with this laboratory." John said. A crackle of electricity could be heard as Florence chewed the chords
