"I know you don't mind my face but outside every person who dares to walk into the forest with throw the biggest rock they can." Valako said

"You can still take it off inside though, right?" Jonah checked, thinking it must be torture having to wear a mask every second of her life.

"yeah, it's actually better if I keep it off inside so my skin doesn't become inflamed." Valako said

"Well that's fuuuun." Jonah said, half joking.

"I could get fungus growing behind the mask if I don't take it off often enough." Valako said

"Ewww yeah that's a nope." Jonah said with a grimace.

"it's bad but it's a risk I have to take." Valako said

"In order to make people less afraid of you?" Jonah said, grimacing at how the words sounded. "That's horrible."

"there isn't anything else I can do." Valako said

"I know." Jonah said quietly. "I'm sorry you have to deal with that though."

"it's fine." Valako said. She fiddled with a piece of her hair that she used to use to cover her deformity

"No it's not." Jonah protested. "Just because you're used to it doesn't mean it's alright."

"I know it's not Jonah, what else am I supposed to say?" Valako said.

"I don't know." He admit, looking down at his shoelaces.
