Callum chuckled. 'Impossible.'

Claudia rolled her eyes, cleaning up a trash pile scattered around the trash basket.

Callum made his bed.

Callum's dad organized all the cat toys scattered around and put them in an empty box.

'I'm gonna go check the other rooms,' Claudia said, then walked out.

Callum's dad looked around the room. "So what did you do while we were away?" He asked, like him and Claudia were just gone on vacation for a while, and not gone for 3 whole years.

'Not very much, really,' Callum said. 'Most of the time I just tended to the gardens and the cats, until it grew too lonely to bear.'

"And then you went to school." Callum's dad said with a small smile. "Was that the first place you went to, or did you explore first?"

'I just had a look around the city, I guess,' Callum shrugged.

"Cool." Callum's dad said, organizing Callum's desk a bit.

'What was it like in the darkness for three years?'

"Really, really boring. You didn't miss much of anything."

Callum chuckled. 'Yeah, makes sense.'

"Although that food machine was one of the pluses." Callum's dad said with a small laugh.

'Must've been!' Callum laughed.
