Callum pressed his fingers onto the edge. It didn't hurt, and was actually kind of gloopy.

"Does it hurt?" Eli asked cautiously.

'No,' Callum said, pulling away his hands. A dark slime stuck to his fingers. Callum grimaced.

"Blegh." Eli said, looking at the dark goop on Callum's hand. "I ain't touching that."

'Lucky,' Callum muttered.

Eli looked at the edge more. "It's so... Weird. And slimy." They said. It reminded them of a TikTok slime video, only if the slime was pure black.

'Yeah,' Callum said, pressing his index finger and thumb together then pulling them apart.

Eli watched intently, not quite sure what was happening, though they were pretty sure Callum was either trying to wipe the shadow goop off or he was doing the hand movements for some sort of spell.

Callum wiped his hands on his shirt then looked back at the wall.

Eli kept switching their gaze from Callum to the shadow goop, wondering if anything changed. It didn't look like it. but the slime stuff did seem to come off of Callum's fingers.

'God, I'm not looking forward to this,' Callum mumbled. He returned his fingers to the wall and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.

The shadow goop got on Callum's finger's but didn't get and further. The edge stuff seemed to try and split apart from each other, but slowly.

Callum clenched his jaw, and small sparks came from his fingers. 'Close your eyes, Eli,' Callum said in a strained voice.

"Why?" Eli asked, squeezing their eyes shut.

Callum didn't reply. He pushed his hands deeper into the ooze, and shouted in pain.
