alright, i'll start.

In the laboratory, the lights are dim. Scraps lay scattered across the floor. In the center of the barely lit room, a group of men in white coats are cluttered around a complicated looking piece of machinery.
"It is almost complete." Veradun says, breaking the spell of silence. The other scientists look up at him. -
Lachlan glanced at him, then back at the machine. 'Needs a few tweaks,' he said, oblivious to the creepy aesthetic of the laboratory. He continued to stare at their creation, the marvellous piece of machinery that was unlike anything man had created.
-
Veradun frowned. Since when was Lachlan the boss around here? After all, Veradun had designed the machine himself. He ran the diagnostic check again. “It is ready.” He said.
-
'It needs to be tested,' Lachlan said, a concerned note in his voice. He turned to look at Veradun, frowning. 'What if it isn't safe?'
He wasn't usually this argumentative, but he knew that if anyone got injured - or worse - from this creation, the organisation would be shut down immediately. -
Ignoring the comment, Veradun removed his jacket and stepped onto the platform. “Scientists, today- tonight, we have done the impossible. We have accomplished our mission. Our mission to build this machine. Its purpose, as you all know, is to enter a beings mind, while in a state of sleep- and live their dream. Tonight, we will test it. Volunteers?” He called out. “step up.”
-
Lachlan glanced around him. Nobody stepped forward. They must've shared his skeptical thoughts on this untested device.
He debated in his mind whether to volunteer or not. It could kill him and the person sleeping, or it could work. His curiosity got the best of him, and he stepped forward. 'I will.' -
Veradun looked disappointedly over his group of scientists. Two more scientists joined the volunteers subject to Veradun’s gaze.
-
'Who shall be asleep?' Lachlan asked, pushing his glasses up his nose.
-
"we have the subject right here, Lachlan." Veradun said, gesturing to the sleeping human in the chair. "/Put these on." He tossed out three pairs of headgear and put one on himself.
