"aw man." Mira sets the bag of pretzels down and pretends to be joking around while actually feeling sad "you think that's bad, i'm an orphan." she grabs another pretzel and then continues on with her story. "they died when i was a child, i don't even remember them, but the social workers keep on saying something about this big inheritance that i have. kinda odd considering i haven't gotten adopted yet." she shrugs and starts scribling something in her notebook

Emilia stared at her knew friend, heart in throat. "That's terrible, I mean really horrible. Your doing so well to cope you know. I can always talk to my Mum, maybe try and adopts you" she suggested then frowned. "She'll probably say no though, we can barely afford food as it is" she answered trying now to turn the attention in her.

"that would be awesome!" Mira blurted out without thinking. "i mean, if she would adopt me, that would be cool. i've been at the orphanage all my life and everyone there hates me for some reason, and all of the other kids always find a way to make me look bad in front of whomever might adopt me." she looks sad for a millisecond, but then starts eating a bag of skittles and seams to be ok again

Emilia smiled feeling slightly bad for Mira. She hoped she was just exaggerating and it wasn't as bad as she made it out to be. "Well, I can try, but no promises though. But yeah I suppose it'd be quite cool" she replied trying to think where Mira would sleep and then the costs of food and extra bedding and everything.

"well i guess class is starting soon" Mira stated the obvious while students hurried to choose a seat before the bell rang and the teacher strutted over to her desk. Mira quickly shoved all unopened snacks back into her bag and pretended to be paying attention to ms whatsherface while actually stuffing her face with skittles

"You're so weird" Emilia laughed but she meant it as a compliment. "Anyways, I don't wanna get detention so shush now"
(time skip to lunch?) -
"darn right i'm weird." Mira giggles and sicks her tongue out while going cross-eyed. then she shows Emilia what she had been scribling in her notebook. a picture of her taking a bit out of a chocolate bar. she tears the page out and hands it to her, then starts paying attention to what ms boring geezer is telling the class
(nope, we keep eating all day lol. that is what i do during class as well, it's a wonder i don't weigh 600 pounds. i probably will when i'm an old person tho, idk 🤷) -
(and "sticks" her tongue out, not "sicks", i misstyped)

Emilia chuckled and cringed a little at Mira's expression then tucked the picture in a pocket in her bag, before turning her attention on Miss Williams. -
(i was just gonna continue on with calling the teacher "ms boring" or something like that, good thing you thought of a name tho, i was running out of ways to call someone boring lmao)
miss williams: "pop quiz today!" *starts handing out papers*
Mira: "noooo!!!!" she whispers, super mad, and then completes the paper without a second thought. she just guessed on all of the answers, but there is a 1/4 chance that she will get each question right, so who cares as long as they are good guesses -

Emilia worked silently on her pop quiz test until the very last answer. She knew most of the answers but a few she had to guess on. "Hey" she whispered to Mira. "How do you think you did?" -
Mira turns to look at Emilia and then just blinks very slowly a few times before answering. "i have no idea, but it was multiple choice, so i have a 1/4 chance of getting each question correct." she gives a thumbs up and a goofy grin. "how 'bout you?"

"I'm pretty sure I got most of them right" she responded then realised she sounded like she was boasting added.
"Though, I know I got a few wrong and I had to guess on a few as well" -
