Nik just wrapped her in a hug. "No you're not." He whispered.
"Do I need to leave you two alone?" Daniel asked cautiously. -
Natsuki smiled weakly, leaning into Nik.

"Do you want to explain why you didn't talk to him?" Nik whispered so that Daniel wouldn't hear.

Natsuki nodded, burying her face in Nik's chest.

"I can do it if you're too self conscious about it or something." Nikolai offered.

Natsuki nodded again.

"You want me to for you?" He confirmed.

Natsuki nodded once again, not looking up.

"Ok." Nik broke the hug.
"What's happening?" Daniel asked. -
Natsuki looked away, looking back at Eve.

"So.... You know how Nat didn't really talk much last time?" Nik said, and Daniel frowned, nodding. "Well... She couldn't talk..."

'What do you mean, couldn't?' Daniel asked.

"Like, she literally couldn't. She was-what was the term? Select mute?" Nik asked.

'Selectively mute,' Natsuki said quietly.
'So she chose not to?' Daniel asked. -
"You can explain it better than I can." Nik told Natsuki quietly. "I mean, kind of? She could talk, but only when she was super duper comfortable and stuff. I'm getting this right, right?" Nik asked her again.
