Mark raised his head above the ground and sighed, noticing the other people who occupied his surroundings. He was restless, and that feeling just continuously grew bigger as the clock ticked and the time continued.
"What is happening? Who are you?" he asked curiously, his voice languorous. -
If Panda and Nix don't post a response within the next 24 hours, I'll continue!))
-
(i was first to respond tho...? *confusion*)
-
Omg I'm so sorry I messed that up rip))
The brain isn't braining lately)) -
Myr lifted her hand to the air and a long silver staff that had been propped up against a nearby table lifted up off the ground, before shooting into Myr's hand at her summons.
She twirled it with a touch of flair, before pointing it at the strangers who had just appeared before her, her eyes narrowed with distrust.
When they began to speak, the tip of her staff violently burst into ominous purple flames. "I ask the questions here!" she commanded, banging the end of her staff against the ground for emphasis. The sound echoed through the massive library, the trails of books flying overhead undisturbed by the action beneath them.
The purple fire cast an eerie light on the girl's face, which showed clear suspicion. "Who are you? How did you come to be here? Who summoned you? Tell me at once!" -
Lucas gulped. "W-well... I'm Lucas Greene, and I fell through that portal, but I think you knew that already. I dunno anything else..." His voice grows softer as he loses confidence.
-
"If we knew how we got here we wouldn't all be confused," Adriana said. "We could ask you the exact same thing. Anyway, the last thing I remember was this annoying notification that kept popping up asking if I wanted to go on an "adventure." Even when I put my phone on silent it kept waking me up! So I just said that I would and then deal with whatever I signed up for in the morning. I wasn't expecting this."
-
-
"I know," Mark said, sighing. "The notification is so exasperating, it almost got my phone confiscated for a month."
-
“It was bonkers,” Lenore said, nodding along. “I would get out of it, but it kept going again and again and again… it wouldn’t even let me sleep!” She looked around the library a second time. “Nice books,” she said. “Must take a while to read them all.” Lenore stared back at the girl. “Sorry. Lost track. But yeah, that notification was what got me here. Blame that.”

Myr's eyes narrowed with suspicion, the air tense for a moment until she twirled her staff, slamming its end against the floor. The purple flames died in an instant, the warm glow of the sun casting a natural light on the group.
She circled them, her sharp eyes drawing in every detail. "Your clothes, your speech, your scent," she began. "They all indicate that you aren't from this place. Unfortunately, that's the limit of my deduction. Ethnicities and social groupings aren't something I waste time in studying."
She crossed her arms, her staff standing on its own by her side. "However, I do know someone that does. Either you're confused, lying, or just plain stupid," she remarked. "I intend to find out which one you are. Probably a mixture."
Her hostile expression softened. "Do not think me cruel. These are strange times, in which deceit is common and suspicion is a survival skill. Unless you'd like to be lead astray and robbed blind of any value you possess, you will listen to me." -
"What makes these times so strange?" Adrienne asked. It has to be bad if "suspicion is a survival skill." "Besides us, of course."
-
Lucas furrows his eyebrows, taken aback by the thought of being stupid. "i'm just really confused. i dunno about the others." he says, crossing his arms. "i don't think any of us came here willingly, we were only trying to get rid of the notification. right, guys?"
