"Yeah!" she cheered, and tried her best to give the older woman puppy dog eyes.
-
She narrows her eyes at the girl, but she really can't argue. She doesn't know where she is, either, and she refused to sit here alone and wait for something terrible to happen. She closes her book with a sense of finality and stands up.
"Fine. Whatever." -
"Yay!" she crows, face lighting up. "I'm Caaguru, by the way. What are your names?"
-
"Err.. My name is Falter-" He'd speak in a way that seemed like he wasn't keen on opening up too much about himself.
-
She sniffs, irritable. This girl is just... way too bubbly. She has the same personality as that annoying hero that's been all over tv lately.
"Lane." she responded, snippy. "If we're going, let's get it over with already." -
The smile is back in full force.
"Falter and Lane! What pretty names. It's really nice to meet you both!" -
"Could say the same." He'd take note of his surroundings before they'd take off to go to the store. "Well, if we're going to be headed to the store to get grapes, I guess. I'll just steer clear out of sight. I don't travel on foot because you could assume why."
Falter took a few steps while trying to find a way out of the park. He stopped after a few steps and looked back at the both of them. "Anddd.. before you ask, why I have this thing hiding my face and why can't I get rid of it- I can't control it, and I can't make it disappear either. Just letting you know. Inconvenient amirite?" -
"I'm guessing that's not a common cosmetic trait where you're from, then." she remarks.
-
"Hey, that's okay! If you don't want people to see you, I can use my cat magic to hide your face!" she offers, trying to be reassuring.
-
It wasn't quite clear to see the look on his face at the mention of cat magic, but he seemed a little concerned at the thought of it ".. Cat- magic?"
-
"Yeah!" she said. "It's really easy, you don't even have to do anything but stay close to me! Here, watch!"
She smiled again, showing off all her teeth, although they looked different now. What had seemed before like a perfectly standard set of teeth now looked more like a shark's mouth, lined with razor sharp fangs. -
Lane scowls at the girl.
"Are you even human?" she asked pointedly, crossing her arms, braced for a fight. -
She looked a little hurt again, the smile on her face finally faltering.
"Well, no, but I didn't think that would be a problem." -
Falter gestured quickly in front of himself when he was taken aback seeing Caaguru's teeth, thinking she would attempt witchcraft on him. "Okay, I prefer not to be a cat. Thank you." his voice went from calm to somewhat shaken.
He relaxed when Lane spoke up and let out a big sigh "Are we going to get grapes or not?" he'd ask in an attempt to change the subject. -
His response took her so off guard she briefly forgot Lane was looking at her like she wanted to fight. She laughed loudly, and for quite some time before she could catch her breath. When the laughter did finally subside, she took a few steadying breaths and smiled at him again, easily. The fangs remained in place of the normal human teeth she had appeared with at first.
"That's funny! That would be great, if I could just turn people into cats. No, my cat magic is how I disguised my teeth when I first came to meet you! My family knows the exact words to use to explain it and everything, but basically, it just makes people see you differently. No changing shape or becoming a cat at all!"
