Question put his hands into his pockets, stepping backwards and looking around the room. "I'm sure these accomodations will suffice, won't they?"
-
"Yes," Jaime nodded, looking about the room. Then, just to be safe, "Thank you."
-
Question clapped his hands together briefly, a look of eccentric excitement on his face. "Excellent! I shall leave you to it. I'm sure your bodyguards will ensure your safety."
-
"Safety from what?" Jaime raised his eyebrow in question at Question.
-
"From dying, obviously," Question replied cheerfully, taking a piece of bread from Jaime's plate and eating it. "If you run, I'll have to kill you. Wouldn't that be a shame?"
-
"I see," Jaime said. He then took the bread out of Question's hand. "Now, if you'll excuse me."
-
"My bread!" Question protested, pretending to be deeply offended. "You have plenty of your own."
-
"You took it from my plate," Jaime rolled his eyes at the childishness of the man as he took a bite out of the round bread.
-
Question sat on the edge of the table, his arms crossed. "If you insist. Although I think you should know I already licked it."
-
"I have a little brother," Jaime rolled his eyes. "That should be explanation enough."
Just then he grabbed Question by the collar and threw him against the wall, possibly enough to knock him out. Then he dashed through the still-open door scanning around for a way out. -
Question grimaced as his head slammed into the wall, cradling it in his hands as he slid down the wall with a groan. "That wasn't very nice," he remarked with a grimace, looking up at the two stunned bodyguards.
He used the wall to pull himself back to his feet, unbalanced. "Well, what are you waiting for?" he roared, his eyes flashing. "Get him, or I'll have both your heads!" -
Jaime ran as fast as he could. He knew it likely wouldn't fare well for him if he was caught. Which meant he had to make it out.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw an entrance-like door. Either an entrance to a main room which would probably eventually lead to an exit, or the actual exit. He ran towards it and barged through. -
The bodyguards raced down the hall. They were quick, but Jaime had a headstart and therefore an advantage. The door he passed through flew open with a bang and several people inside the room startled, following him with wide eyes.
The bodyguards pushed past the staring people. "Stop!" one of them commanded. "You mustn't go further! We'll have to shoot!" -
Jaime took a few steps back, not liking his choices. He could run and they'd shoot and some people might get caught in the crossfire. Or he could return with his head hung low.
He then noticed that the guns the guards had were rather large. It would take time to situation them right in the arms and aim, at least more time than a handgun. And no one was in the walkway. If he took the chance he might only get a non-fatal wound.
So he ran, bolting for the door out of the room. He reached it and flung it open to go through. -
The sound of gunshots and screams filled the air as the bodyguards fired at Jaime. Bullets whizzed by, quick and eager to kill. Past the door was...nothing. A wide stretch of land that went on as far as the eye could see, with no trees or hills. A perfectly flat distance that went on for miles, decorated with nothing but dying grass that struggled to fight against the chill of late winter.
