"Alright." Sakura said putting on pop music. "You should rest though. I mean with your condition and all."

Devin nodded. "Could you at least stay? I don't really like being alone. He talks to me when I'm alone..." He whispered, fear creeping into his voice.

"Yes I'll stay with you. I'll protect you with my life." Sakura said petting Devin's head. "I will stay with you."

Devin made a slight purring sound, nuzzling into Sakura's touch. "Keep doing that. I like it." His tail started wagging and hitting the bed.

Sakura kept petting Devin's head. "Did you just purr? 😏" She asked. "Cause I heard some purring."

Devin purred louder, his ears flicking to the side. "Ye-yeah? I purr sometimes..." They mumbled, their cheeks bright red.

"I thought so. 😏" Sakura said looking the other way with a bright red face. Should I confess my love for him? She thought.

Devin looked up at her, still purring. "You okay?" They asked, tail wagging more. He liked being pet on the head, but this was a reaction of love, an emotion they hadn't felt in months.

"Y-Yeah. I'm fine." Sakura said looking back at him. "Just a little hot."

Devin rubbed his head against her hand. "Keep petting me! I'll probably fall asleep." They mumbled, their words broken by the purring. His cheeks burned but it was a good feeling. A warm one. One that made him feel ... normal."

Sakura kept petting him. She smiled. "Goodnight my wolf demon." She said. "Goodnight." She then got on her bed and fell asleep.

Devin shifted and woke up, no headache, no pain, just cuddled against Sakura. He realized he was still purring and didn't bother to stop.

Sakura opened one eye to see that Devin looks better. She then shut her eyes again to make him think she was still sleeping.

They shifted a bit, purring louder. His tail went up and so did his ears. "I think I love her." He mumbled to himself. As soon as he said it, his tail wagged more. They spread their wings and tried wrapping them around her.

Sakura felt something wrapped around her. Her face turned bright red when I shifted towards Devin's direction. I think I'm in love. She thought.
