Sakura was in shock. It couldn't be him. She thought. "Sakura. Sakura Kinomoto." She said with a shy voice.

Devin gasped in shock. "But that... that was my best friend's name..." They exhaled heavily and groaned. "It can't be you."

"It is. I can't believe you're still alive! I thought you were dead!" Sakura said running to hug him. "I missed you."

Devin tensed, hissing quietly. "I never died. I just .... had to leave. I can't be in society the way I am." He kinda just patted the girl's back and then pushed her away.

"What happened?" She asked. "Because I was worried about you." She said again.

Devon shook their head. "I got sick and then unexplainably became this." He muttered, spreading his wings and gesturing to the animal features and horns.

"Don't say that! You're cute looking like that!" Sakura exclaimed. "I think that you should have self-confidence in yourself."

Devin shook his head again. "I'm basically demon possessed. At least that's what everyone else says. Why should I be confident?" They cried loudly, almost angrily.

"Well, because you don't need to let other people judge you." Sakura said softly. "I like you as a friend, possessed or not."

"I'm not safe to be around though! you can't trust me or this demon! You can't!!" Devin cried, shaking their head.

Sakura looked down. "I'm sorry for bothering you." She said. "Maybe I should leave." She said as she turned around. She looked down and sighed.

Devin hesitated. "Well, maybe not. Stay here. Maybe you can help..."

"Ok." She said with a smile. "So, how are we going to free you?"

They shrugged. "I don't know. I don't think it can happen." He looked away. "I might just be like this forever."

"We'll find a way!" Sakura said holding Devin's hand. "I promise."
