Dream nodded. "Talk to me. Tell me everything. Please, Nicky. The fire? Drowning? Hate you? Me? Never. The tower? Don't think about it. I'm here."
Karl started crying. He hid his face in George's shoulder, afraid to speak to Nick. Afraid of scaring him and ruining everything Dream was trying to do. -
"It's just everything that- everything that happened. You- You told me I was worthless and then walked away and then I fell...falling falling falling falling-" Nick's voice faded into a pained whisper.
George rubbed his friend's back and sighed. "This isn't good..." He gazed down at Dream and frowned. "We've gotta snap him out of it...I didn't know there was a tunnel or anything else. If there's another way out of here, he'd know." -
Dream nodded at George, then glanced down at Nick. "Shhhhh, Nicky, you know very well that I would never let you fall again. Or tell you that you're worthless. Because you're not worthless and I can't see myself without you, my only family." He hugged Nick tight and swayed slightly.
Karl glanced up, still crying. "George....I'm afraid of getting caught and put back in prison." -
Nick started registering their voices and calmed down some. He nodded slowly and leaned back to peer up at Dream. "I- I'm sorry," Tears streamed down his face and he sighed.
"I know...Karl look, he's getting better-" George whispered encouragingly. -
"It's okay. Nicky, want me to sing again? That calms you down." Dream wiped his tears away and rubbed the younger boy's back, swaying more. "I'll sing Nicky. Just tell me if you want that."
Karl nodded and smiled weakly. "Okay. Can you ... Can you ask him about another way out? Instead of that tunnel..." -
Nick shook his head at Dream and tried to pull away. "There's no other way out, Karl." He whispered.
George gasped quietly. "THere's no way you can take that trip again..." -
Dream growled quietly. "I don't care if he could make it. I won't let him. I'm not going to risk losing him again. I can't do that." He hissed, looking at George.
Karl shuddered at Dream's tone. "I have to agree with them, love. You can't go back through that tunnel." -
"It's literally the only f**king way! We're going-" Nick stumbled away from Dream and nearly fell. He caught himself on the bars of Karl's cell and attempted to stand on his own.
George frowned and stepped forward, not knowing if he should help Karl or calm Dream. -
Dream snarled. "No! You can't! I won't let you go back through there! You physically can't!" He growled threateningly. He reached for Nick's arm and hissed again. "I can't let you do this, for your own sake."
Karl froze. He never thought Dream would speak like that to Nick. He was terrified. -
Nick jerked away, both fear and determination present in his eyes. "I'M NOT LETTING THE LOVE OF MY DAMN LIFE STAY IN THIS PRISON ONE MORE NIGHT! I'M NOT LEAVING HIM!! I already did that once, when I got a bad feeling and we didn't come back. SO WE'RE GOING!! I don't give a f**k about 'my own sake'. We. Are. Going." He shouted.
George jumped, and stared at Nick and Dream in shock. -
Dream snarled again, louder this time. "Fine. If you wanna die, die. I obviously can't f**king convince you to listen to me. I'll let you go. Let you die since that's what you want. Save Karl. Kill yourself. Go ahead. See if I care!" He yelled back, his voice breaking painfully. He was angry, once more, with Nick.

George gasped and hit Dream upside the head. "WHAT THE HELL!?"
Nick's face paled and he looked up at Dream. He froze as his entire world shattered. "I- I never said I wanted to- I- I wanted to make it to the other side with you guys- I- I wasn't trying to- to die-" Tears streamed down Nick's face, but he felt numb and broken inside. "But you- you want me d-dead-" -
Dream gasped and winced. "Nick, I- No! Nick- I-I didn't mean- I don't want-" He swallowed hard and shuddered as he realized he probably just lost his brother. "I-I didn't mean- I didn't mean it. I don't want you dead. I don't- I'm not- I'm sorry!" He choked out, starting to shake.
Karl coughed and inhaled sharply. He looked in-between Nick and Dream in terror. "Guys, please!" -
Nick collapsed and couldn't breathe. "B-But you said to- to kill myself maybe I- I should-" He sobbed and shook violently. "I should...I should kill myself. You- you want me to- I'm nothing-"
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" George shouted. "YOU TOLD A KID TO KILL HIMSELF!! WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K!" -
Dream flinched again. He felt like running, but last time he ran, he almost lost Nick. But it was too late. He already screwed up. He already lost his brother. "Nick... No! I don't want - you shouldn't- Please no.... Nick, look at me! I didn't want you to die. Please -" He wanted to say something to George but couldn't meet his eyes.
