Sky stared at the weird paper in their hand, then at the edge of the mountain. Did they really want to go into an unknown world? The Featherling population was already small, so leaving could make it worse.
They looked back at the Featherling town, huffing as they thought about the pros and cons of leaving. If they left, they might save the population from dying out, but at what cost?
Thalassa rubbed his fingers over the surprisingly dry paper, lifting his head to face his brother. "I don't know what I should do, Clemens…" He muttered quietly, slowly spinning his feet to stay off the sandy floor. He heard his brother blow a couple of bubbles as he sighed.
"I think you should go. This might save our origin from extinction once and for all." He replied with worry laced in his voice.
Hannah perched on a tree, twitching her wings and almost accidentally knocking down the parrots sitting next to her. "Hey! Be careful!" One squawked at her, earning a glare.
"Quiet, I'm thinking child." She chirped at them, looking at the paper. Eh, not a hard decision. She didn't have much family here anyways, other than her birds, who somehow always know her location. -
Void stared at the paper in his hands, sitting down against the wall of his house with his ears tilted back in thought as he debated with himself. He eventually moved to stand, tucking the paper into one of his pockets, before starting to gather things. It was nearly time for him to jump towns after all, and going out and looking for other gem holders might be fun
Eros paced back and forth in his small ish home, he wings opening and closing in stress. He occasionally sent glares at the paper laying innocently on his table, thinking over what was written. "It has to be a trap. Why wouldn't it be. But if whoever sent this is setting up a trap then they already know where I am,so staying could be just as dangerous as leaving. But if I stay im in familiar territory, but I also could be more easily overwhelmed because the know where I am" he said to himself, starting to mess with his metal arm in his stress -
Crager was confused by this paper and just kept looking at it. He then crumpled it up and threw it on the ground. He then walked through his cave home and stayed there instead. Who cared about the gem holders anyway? He wasn't leaving his cave for nothing. Besides, it's daylight anyway.
Buzzer slightly panicked as he read the note. He wasn't sure what to make of this. Was this a trick? A call to arms? Maybe someone just needs his help. Buzzer just didn't know what to do and simply floated around his house pacing in and out of different rooms for a full hour. He then finally made his decision, and he was going to answer the call. He then started packing. -
Sky looked back at the edge again, this time getting into a running stance and adjusting the bag already slinged over their shoulder. They sprinted off the edge without a second thought, falling a couple of feet before their parachute opened up and glided them down the rest of the way. Once hitting the floor, they made an oof sound, nearly tripping forward.
So much for the gracefulness most Featherlings had.
Thala closed his eyes, making his final decision. "Tell mom and dad that I'll be back as soon as I can." He said, swimming into the house and popping back out with a bag around his shoulder. Clemens nodded, hugging his brother. "Stay safe. There's still the threat of the hunters." He added swiftly, nodding at him before he swam away.
Thalassa turned away once his brother was out of sight, pushing upwards through the water. Here he goes...
Hannah stood up, opening her wings to take off, but not before another bird flew in front of her. "Wait! I think another Gem Holder lives nearby!" They claimed, making Hannah tilt her head from confusion. The bird continued. "We were flying, and I saw a person with a gem on their neck a couple of days ago!"
The winged girl made a twittering noise. "Where did you see them go?" -
Void hummed quietly as he worked on packing his bags, checking on his glow dust supply, before heading out of the house. He paused, looking around, before starting to walk out of the village
Eros started throwing this around, becoming increasingly frustrated and paranoid as time passed. He eventually sat down on the floor holding his head as his wings wrapped around himself, his harsh breathing echoing around him -
Buzzer got a suitcase and packed several of his yellow and black striped pajamas. He then went to the kitchen and, with a backpack, stuffed several snacks with him. He then grabbed his map and exited his house. Now began his journey to find more gem holders, wherever they are.
-
A quick popping noise came out of Sky's mouth, followed by a neck jerk before going back to normal. They glanced around at their surroundings for anything that could lead them towards a nearby town, the only indication of life being track marks on the ground. If I follow these, maybe it'll lead me to one of the holders. They have to be somewhere nearby. They thought, following the tracks and trying to get out of the forest.
The bird chirped, flying away with the others following behind. Two of the group squawked something along the lines of "Track down Gem Holders!", flying away from the town. Hannah followed the birds, eventually stopping in front of a house. The birds chanted "Knock!" multiple times, so she expanded her wings to wave them away as she walked up to the door. Hannah took a deep breath before knocking. -
Void hummed cheerfully as he walked, his ears twitching as he looked around. He pulled out a map, looking it over to decide where to go
Eros froze when he heard the knocking, one wing moving so that he could look at the front door. He stared for a second or two, before bursting into motion, rushing for the back door and slamming it open, sprinting for the treeline -
Buzzer took out his map and looked around it. He wasn’t quite sure where to start so just chose a random direction. He did start to wonder what a gem holder may look like. Hopefully not a withered.
-
Did he run into the forest that Sky is in, or somewhere random? Just curious.))
Hannah jumped at a loud noise from somewhere in the house, making a worried look at her birds. "JJ, go check the other side of the house. I can't see what that was…" She muttered, puffing out her wings a bit. The bird, JJ, flew towards the back, immediately noticing the open door. "Person left! They got scared?" JJ chirped as they went back to Hannah.
She bit her lip, running towards the back. "Hey! Come back please! I'm sorry for scaring you!" She called out towards where the person had possibly ran away, guilty of scaring the first possible Gem Holder she had met. -
That can be up to you OwO)
Void sighed and lowered the map, stopping as be stared at it. He didn't even know where to start looking. He could go to a major city, but that had its own problems
Eros ignored her, panic overtaking his mind as he ran into the forest. However, due to his panic he wasn't watching there he was going, causing him to step into a hole and fall with a sharp cry as one of his prostetic legs disconnected -
-
Crager walked around the caves some more when someone fell from a hole above him. As he stepped closer, he noticed they looked a lot like an Elytrian. And they appeared to have a gem on their neck. He said "Oh for Pete's sake, I can't escape anything, can I?"
-
The forest Sky is in then lol-))
After a little bit of walking, Sky heard a loud cry from up ahead, freaking out for a split second and sprinting towards the noise. Curse their parachute slowing them down…
They nearly ran into the hole themself as they got there, balancing themself and crouching down. "A-Are...you o-okay?! O-Oh goodness…" They squeaked out, looking up at a sudden breeze. Another Elytrian was right in front of them!
Hannah had ran when she heard the noise, slowing in her tracks when she saw a young teenage Featherling crouched down. They looked up at her, the half of their face she could see frowning from what she could assume was worry.
After a bit of surprisingly quick swimming, Thalassa came close to shallow water. Wait, shallow water so close to the Merling town? He didn't even know there was land so close, but then again he rarely goes exploring. He flattened himself against the sand as he heard someone walk by, silently wishing he could see who it was.
(Trying to get Thala and Buzzer to interact cuz yes.)
