"Gold," Skeppy frowned. "Do not say that about people. And this is why people think you're an annoyance! Because you judge them because of their appearance."
-
Gold flinched away from Skeppy, standing up and facing him angrily. "You think I'm annoying too, don't you?" He yelled. His ears were up and he snorted angrily. "Think that. I don't care! Maybe you should've said that before!" He whirled and ran upstairs, hiding in his room, under the bed.
Bad watched his son go, about to protest but realized that Skeppy was right.
Lem shifted uncomfortably. "Maybe I should go... I can always come back another day." -
"No, Lem," Skeppy said gently. "You can probably help," He stood quickly, heading after Gold. "No, Gold, that's not what I meant!"
-
Gold was crying, curled into a ball closest to the wall under his bed. He ignored Skeppy and his his face and upper body with his wings.
Lem nodded, following Skeppy. "Sweetheart, Skeppy didn't mean it like that. Come out please." -
Skeppy sat down next to Gold's bed. "Gold, I don't think you're annoying at all. I swear I don't."
-
Gold let out a sob and curled himself tighter, making himself as small as he could. He ignored Skeppy and Lem, tears soaking his wings.
Lem kneeled down and tapped his hand on the floor near Gold's bed. "Gold, he's not lying. Please come out." -
"Gold, I'm sorry," Skeppy said softly.
-
"I don't care!" He sobbed. Gold was in pain, only because he knew what Skeppy said was true. He whimpered and felt his breathe hitch and choke up.
Lem looked at Skeppy sadly and shook xeir head. "He may not calm down." -
Skeppy sighed. "Gold, you're not annoying- and honestly you're anything but- I'm sorry for saying that, I lost my temper."
-
Gold whimpered and coughed. "Yes I am. You had every right to say that." He choked out. "I am annoying. Always have been and will be."
Lem shook xeir head. "No, you are not. I love you, Skeppy loves you, Bad loves you. Come out. Please?" -
"Gold, please, that's not true," Skeppy said.
-
Gold slowly uncurled and he pushed a golden rose toward Lem. "R-really?" He hiccupped. He crawled forward a bit, still under the bed, but enough so Lem could see him.
Lem took the rose and smiled. "Yes. Come all the way out. He didn't mean it, Goldie boy. Please?" -
"Yeah, really," Skeppy said gently.
Sapnap jolted awake in a cold sweat, a nightmare having clouded his sleep. He tried to recollect his breaths as he quickly sat up. -
Gold crawled out from under his bed, a little dusty and his wings wet, and threw himself into Skeppy's arms. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!" He cried, nuzzling his uncle's neck.
Karl groaned, starting to wake up when he felt Sapnap moving. "Sappy? What's wrong?" -
"Hey, don't be sorry, it's okay!" Skeppy said, hugging him tightly.
Sapnap whimpered, shuddering. "I just had a nightmare-"
