Nick chuckled. "But you love me."
"I'm not," George said, smiling a little to try and prove himself. -
"Nah-" Karl joked.
Clay's throat tightened and he met George's eyes. Why can't I just take your pain away? You deserve so much better than this. "No, you need to finish. Or eat something else. I think there might be crackers in here, maybe a soda?" -
"Ouch," Nick said, finally setting Karl down once they reached the place where they got into the flumes.
"No, I ate," George protested. -
"I'm just messing with you!" Karl smiled a moment before leaning in and kissing Nick.
"You didn't eat enough," Clay stated sadly. -
Nick kissed him back. "I know, I know," He said after pulling away, turning to the gate, which they had opened for them to hop onto one of the floating logs.
"But I ate one of the packets-" George lied quietly. -
Karl laughed and followed Nick.
"No you didn't-" Clay said sadly. -
Nick climbed in, patting the spot in front of him for Karl.
George swallowed hard. "But-" -
Karl hopped in next to Nick. "How fast does this thing go?" He wondered aloud.
"No, you didn't," Clay reiterated. "Let me see, then." -
"I have no idea," Nick said with a smile, watching as the log got faster and they floated along.
George sucked in a breath, shaking his head. "No." -
Karl took Nick's hand and smiled.
"Let. Me. See." Clay insisted. "You didn't f**king eat, don't lie to me." -
Nick squeezed Karl's hand, looking up as the log was put on a conveyor belt and brought up an incline.
George flinched, taking a second to pour the rest of the gummies out in his pocket before hesitantly showing the wrapper to Clay. -
"Oh Geez-" Karl muttered.
"Where are they? George we both know you didn't finish-" Clay said sadly. -
"It's okay," Nick said with a chuckle. "You won't die-"
"What more evidence do you want?" George exclaimed. "You really think I'm lying to you?" -
"You don't know that-" Karl said jokingly.
Clay sighed and met George's eyes. "Yes, I know you are. I do the same f**king thing to Nick when he tries to get me to eat." Clay paused and glanced down at his own pack. "If you're not finishing, than I'm not finishing." -
"The only way you could die is if I pushed you off right now," Nick returned playfully, pointing past Karl to the large drop.
George frowned, making a fist and crumpling the wrapper in his hand. He couldn't exactly go back on his lie now- but Clay didn't believe him.
