"I know," Nick said quietly. "I just- I dunno. It reminds me of you and I just- want to help more. I don't know-"

Clay winced and gazed down at the floor. "He deserves so much better than all of this. He shouldn't have to go through anything remotely like what I did," His voice was strained and his eyes filled with tears.

"I know," Nick whispered, holding his arms out to hug Clay. "C'mere."

Clay hesitated a moment before walking over to his friend and hugging him. "Why can't he see himself the way I see him?"
Karl reached into his pockets for his phone, and when he pulled it out he gasped. It had been recording since the store. Oh s**t... I wonder what I got on here- -
"Because he went through almost the same thing as you Clay," Nick said quietly. "He was never told that, or assured it. He doesn't trust anyone enough right now."

Clay bit back a sob as his tears started to fall. "I just want to take his pain away-"
Karl watched the video from the beginning, and realized he'd caught Clay's damn near declaration of love. "He deserves the world.." -
"I know, you're trying your best," Nick said quietly.

"Have you noticed the way he's been flinching?" Clay asked sadly.
"Awww," Karl said softly. he considered deleting the video but decided to keep it just in case. He walked back out of the room and toward the kitchen. -
Nick nodded sadly, rubbing Clay's back. "I know, I know."

(Oh, I just remembered Tubbo still has the video of Matthew abusing George. I wonder if we could still use that-)
Karl walked back into the kitchen and glanced up at Clay and Nick. "Uh-oh," He mumbled. -
(hm, maybe- idk what tho)
Nick looked over to Karl, smiling sadly at him. -
(Hmmm...Maybe if I make Matthew crazy enough for George to need a restraining order-
That's mostly sarcastic but like idk)
"Hey, are you okay?" Karl asked gently.
"Yeah, I'm just extremely worried," Clay replied quietly. He pulled away from Nick and wiped his tears away. -
Nick sighed, patting Clay on the back. "What can we do?"

"About George? Or just in general?" Clay asked.
Karl went for the float he tried to make earlier and carefully took a sip. "Hey, It tastes really good-" He said in surprise. -
Nick playfully scoffed at Karl. "George, mainly."
