Evan stopped by his locker and grabbed his books, closing it. He yelped, seeing a shorter guy behind the locker door. ``Uhm, hello?``
``Yeah, hi,`` the brunette said, crossing his arms. ``Do you have the stuff?``
Evan chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. ``Uh, maybe- maybe don't word it like that? It- It just kind of uhm, kind of sounds like-``
``Yeah, I get it, talla--. Just, did you do the assignment worksheets I gave you?``
``Uh, w-well, the thing is, I uh, I don't have it done.``
The brunette glared at Evan, crossing his arms. ``You don't have it done? Why the f--k not?``
``W-Well-``
``You know what? I don't want to hear some bullsh-t lie, nerd,`` he said, stepping closer. He raised a hand and two other guys walked over. ``Either you give us your worksheet, or else.``
Evan swallowed air, gripping the straps of his backpack. ``O-Or else.. wh-what?``
The brunette chuckled, stepping forward and grabbing the collar of his shirt. ``You get pummeled.`` -
Chloe saw Evan getting picked on by a few bullies and snapped her fingers to get their attention, fixing the leader under her fiery hot glare.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? You should pick on someone your own size, although I doubt you'd be able to find anyone else as short as an eighth grader," she snapped. -
“F—k off, Brandon,” the blonde said, shooting a glare at Chloe. “This doesn’t concern the “school shooter”.”
“Ch-Chloe’s not a school sh-“
“SHUT IT, TALLA—!” He said, gripping Evan’s shirt collar tighter and pushing him against the lockers. For a short guy, he’s very, very strong. -
Chloe marched over to the blonde and punched him right in the face, ripping him off of Evan and shoving him away. "Evan, get out of here," she snapped.

``OW, what the f--k?!`` The blonde shouted, clutching his nose. He removed his hand from his face, blood dripping from his nose. Evan nodded quickly, grabbing his bag he dropped and rushing off.

Chloe wasted no time and proceeded to tackle the blonde to the ground before she could get punched. She still ended up getting kicked around by his cronies, but she had landed a couple painful hits of her own.

Evan stopped to catch his breath, now near the front of the school. He exhaled shakily, still slightly shaken up from earlier. He turned back in the direction he came, wondering if Chloe was alright. W- What am I thinking? Why should I care- No, of course I care, I'm not heartless..

Chloe pulled her hair back, wiping blood from her nose as she made her way to the nurse's office. She spotted Evan and let her hair fall around her face like a messy golden curtain.

Evan looked back up and spotted Chloe, seeing her walk off. Instinctively, he began to follow her. Only to make sure she was okay, of course.

Chloe slipped into the office as the nurse gave her a bored glance. "You again?" she said, unimpressed before sighing. "Sit down and let me have a look at you. You should stop getting beaten up so much, ya know."
Chloe bit her lip to keep from letting out a tart response. Why yes, that's such a clever idea. I'll just stop being beaten up because it's always MY fault, isn't it? -
Evan stopped near the nurse's office, watching Chloe walk inside. He walked over, sitting down in one of the chairs outside.
