She turned to him, meeting his eyes. "No," she said hesitantly. "I just - I uh..." She couldn't seem to come up with a good enough reason.

Aiden put on an innocent, disappointed look, as if he was sad that she wasn’t going to talk to him. He couldn’t think of anything to do besides guilt-tripping her.

Katherine sighed then sat down next to him.
In all honesty she felt that whether he was putting on an act or not, he was...she didn't know, but he didn't sit right with her. -
Aiden smiled slightly, please with himself at pulling that off at least a little bit. he kept good gaze out to the scenery but spoke. “So,” he said. “I’m new in this town. what’s it like here?”

"Pretty welcoming," Katherine said. "But everyone learns everything about everyone else, so you'd better watch out for that."

Aiden nodded slowly. “Okay,” he said. “What are you like?” Immediately after the said that ye felt that it wasn’t the right thing to say.

She looked at him, narrowing her eyes slightly. She leaned back on the bench and looked away. "I don't know," Katherine shrugged.

“God, did I do something? I’m sorry,” he said.

"No," she said. "I'm just bad at first impressions."

“Ah ok, same here.”

Katherine gave a small laugh that said, 'No kidding.'
"So why did you move here?" she asked. -
“I just needed a change of scenery,” he responded quietly. “This seemed like a good place. It’s also not as expensive as other locations.”

Katherine nodded. "Smart."
