C1 and C2 were teenage sweethearts. But C2 moved away and they tried to carry a long distance relationship which eventually got too difficult and they called quits. 7 years passes and C1 just can't get over C2 and finds out they're engaged and makes a attempt to reconnect.
Obviously-
C1 and C2 have been friends for years, and that's all they've ever been. Not until C2 gets a s/o who's got a good job and is better off money wise does C1 realize they have feelings for the other, but keeps it to themselves in fear they're not good enough.

i was thinking maybe either doing the second plot or one of the soulmate AUs.

C1 had gotten out of a terrible and abusive relationship with their ex s/o. So, they weren't sure if they were ready for a new relationship. Until they met C2, who was one of the nicest people they'd met. C1 has to admit, C2 can be a bit of a handful at times, but they love C2 anyways. The whole relationship seems to fall apart when C1's ex tries to take C1 back, but C1 refused, wanting to be with C2.
( idrk if it's good, it's just an idea lol i was thinking maybe like, we tie it in with one of the soulmate AUs. like, the first words tattooed on their arms thing where the ex lied abt having the words on their arm or something like that. ) -
