"So give us your name," the teacher said once Amelia had settled herself in the front of the class.
"Amelia Koester," she answered. She pulled her hair back so that it wasn't all over her shoulders.
"And where are you from?"
"America," Amelia replied.
"Like the States?" one kid asked.
She nodded.
"Which one?" came from another corner of the room.
"Michigan. The Peninsula." -
``Really? What's it like there?`` Michael asked, intrigued.

"It's great," Amelia said with a fond smile at her memories. Then she whispered, in a voice that only someone with keen hearing could hear, "It's home."

``I bet it's sh--ty there,`` someone said in the back of the room.
``Oh shut up, Will, you've never even been there.`` Michael retorted, rolling his eyes.
``Well, I bet it's sh-t.``
He glared at Will, flipping him off. -
Amelia glared at the kid. She didn't much want to continue answering questions so she sat back down in her seat next to Michael.

``Sorry about Will,`` Michael said, crossing his arms and resting them on the desk. ``He's just an a--hole.``

The bell rang and Michael stood, grabbing his things. ``So, what's your next class?`` He asked Amelia, looking over to her. -
"I don't know, you still have my schedule," she replied.

``Oh, right,`` Michael said with a chuckle, handing Amelia her schedule. ``Sorry.``

She took the paper. "Math," she answered.

``I think Felix has math,`` he said, pulling out his phone. ``And I've got biology. Fun.`` He chuckled, sending a quick text to Felix.

"Alright," Amelia said. "Where's the math room?"
