``Yeah,`` Aiden said, looking around at the occasional falling leaves. ``I think fall is one of my favorite seasons. Great weather, great holidays, gorgeous sceneries when the leaves turn these gold, orange and red colors.`` He smiled, reaching a hand out and catching a fallen leaf, holding it up. ``Truly amazing what nature does.``
-
Julia cradled a golden leaf in her palm, before letting the wind blow it briskly away. "Yes, isn't it? Nature is truly a work of art that mankind have yet to truly understand," she said, watching the leaves dance around her with quiet amazement. "I can see why you like fall."
-
Aiden smiled, nodding. ``So uh, what do you like to do in your free time?`` He asked awkwardly, glancing over to Julia as they continued to walk. ``Jesus, that sounded lame..`` he muttered, intending to think it in his head.
-
Julia caught his last words and couldn't help but chuckle a little. "I usually get pistachio icecream and take a long walk in the woods. There's a really beautiful lake there with turtles and-" she caught herself rambling and shut her mouth promptly, looking embarrassed. "Well, it's a nice place, that's all."
-
Aiden chuckled, putting his hands in his pockets. ``I'm sure it's nice,`` he said, keeping his gaze in front of him as they walked. ``Maybe you could uh, take me to there sometime. Y'know, whenever I'm free.``
-
Julia smiled warmly. "Yeah, I'd like that," she said, staring at him like an idiot for about five seconds before quickly looking away. "So uh, what about you? What do you do when you're free?"
-
``Uhm, I like to draw,`` Aiden said, keeping his gaze in front of him. ``I usually draw more realistic things, like animals and random objects. I also like skateboarding.`` He chuckled, shaking his head. ``I can't even tell you how many times I've come close to breaking a bone. And how many times I've actually broken a bone.``
-
"Must be an impressive amount," Julia giggled. "Do you have a favorite thing that you like to draw? Like bears, for example."
-
``Flowers, definitely,`` Aiden replied, pulling out his phone. ``I love to paint the small flowers, especially when you can put so much detail into it.`` He opened his phone, pulling up some photos of his drawings. He scrolled through the sketches and drawings he's taken pictures of. ``I think this one's my favorite. It's a drawing of a cornflower. Small, but gorgeous,`` he said, holding out his phone and showing Julia a photo of a cornflower drawing with bumble bees flying around them.
-
Julia beamed at the sight of it, zooming in and out to see the detail. "Wow...it looks so real. You're really good," she said, handing him back the phone reluctantly.
-
``Uh, thanks,`` Aiden said, blushing. He turned his phone off and put it away, crossing his arms.
-
Julia tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, trying to look calm and nonchalant and failing miserably. "Oh! This is the Market," she said suddenly, recognizing where they were. "A place for selling and buying and a hotspot for the latest gossip."
-
Aiden looked around, examining the stalls around him. ``Nice. Back home, we have farmers markets in the downtown area.`` He sighed, staring down at the ground as memories of him back in his hometown.
-
Julia studied his face, her emerald green eyes softening. "You miss it, don't you?" she said gently. "Your home."
-
``Yeah, kind of,`` Aiden said, rubbing the back of his neck. ``It's just.. I had tons of friends back there, and I even had a girlfriend. Well, at least until she dumped me.`` He chuckled awkwardly, crossing his arms. ``It's just stupid homesickness. I'm fine.``
