J looked at her and managed a small smile. “Thanks,” he said.

``No problem,`` she replied, smiling back at J. ``Hey uh, random question, and I know this probably isn't my place to be asking this, but have you found your soulmate yet?`` Oli asked, taking her hand off his.

“I don’t think so,” J told her. He looked down to his palm and saw- wait, his mark was a different color. That’s not right... “What?”

``Oh, you've found your soulmate already?`` She asked, frowning ever so slightly. ``That's cool.`` She rubbed her hands against her legs, staring at the floor for a moment.

“It’s odd. When I was walking on the sidewalk before I rescued you, my mark was as it always was. Who did I touch with my palm?” Then J froze. He had touched Oli, hadn’t he?

``Maybe you touched someone a bit before you saw me and rescued me?`` She questioned, tapping her hand against her leg. She paused as she thought for a moment, then it hit her. ``W-Wait, where exactly did you touch me when you pushed me?`` She asked, turning to look at J.

“Around your mid-back I believe,” J replied. “Why?”

``Uh, give me a second,`` she replied, standing and walking out of the room. She rushed off to the nearest bathroom, walking in and shutting the door. She adjusted her shirt so she could look at the mark on her back, seeing it'd changed colors. ``Is- Is he my soulmate?`` She muttered.

J sat there and waited for Oli patiently.

Oli walked back into the room, confusion on her face. She walked over to the hospital bed where J laid, sitting down on the chair beside it. ``I uh, I think you might be my soulmate,`` she said, looking over to J. -

J’s brown eyes widened slightly. “Really?” He said, glancing down at his palm. -

``Yeah, I think so,`` Oli said. ``My uh, my mark is actually on my back, where you had pushed me out of the way.`` She added, rubbing her hands together. -
J grew hot. “And it changed?” He asked Oli, referring to her mark.

``Y-Yeah,`` Oli replied, nodding.

Well, this is it. The moment you’ve been anticipating for your entire life, J said to himself. What do I do?
