"But guess what people do when they cross the street," Cassie said. She demonstrated with her head. "They look both ways to see if any cars are moving towards them."

"But what if you don't see the car coming?"

"See, there's the what if," Cassie said. "What if you don't see the car, what if they don't stop in time, what if the brakes go out, so on and so forth. Life is full of what ifs. Let me have a few."

Porak sighed. "I'm sorry, I guess I let this whole bodyguard thing go to my head." he said.

"It's okay," she said. "Just try not to let it happen."

"But I can't promise I won't be protective." he said.

"I understand that, you get gut feelings, whatever," Cassandra said, waving her hand carelessly.

"Or instinct." he said.

"Same difference."

"More or less." he said.

Cassandra looked at the house for a moment before saying, "I don't think my parents will want you to move in again."

"I agree. Maybe I shouldn't come inside your house for a while." he said.

"Alright," Cassie said. "I'll see you tomorrow," she said.

"Bye." he said, walking back to his motorcycle.
