He looked towards the castle. "I know I should probably go back in, but I really don't want to."
-
Libra swallowed and put on a brave face. "You're right, you should probably go in. I think that people will be waiting for you."
-
"C'mon," he said, and wrapped an arm around her shoulders as the two of them returned to the castle.
-
Libra walked with him. She tried to ignore the thought that he would meet his bride tomorrow. Come on, Libra. Get a hold of yourself, she chided herself trying to mentally prepare herself for what was to come.
-
(Gonna do a time skip)
The next day, Dorian got ready quickly but efficiently. That day was one of the biggest days of his life. He stared at himself in the mirror. There would be a dance, a banquet, and then the ceremony. His heart was pounding in his chest, he felt so nervous. -
Libra woke up, filled with dread. She reassured herself that she would see to it that Dorian was happy with his bride.
-
Dorian shook himself out of his thoughts. He rang for Libra. He felt like a mess, despite his regal-looking attire.
-
Libra put on her nicest clothes, which happened to be a plain white dress and tattered white socks. She said aloud, "I can’t go to the ceremony looking like this," but made her way to Dorian's room. "Young prince," she said, knocking on the door, "the people are waiting for you."
-
"Libra," he said. He pulled her in and closed his door. "Do I look alright? Does anything seem wrong? Am I overrreacting?"
-
"Um," Libra started, "Well, to begin with, your face is red, you look like a bug having a seizure, and for the most part, you look quite eccentric." She put on a happy face. "But other than that, nothing is wrong."
-
He groaned in frustration. He grabbed a glass of water. He could feel himself cooling down.
There was a knock on the door. Dorian recognized his mother's knock and watched as she opened the door.
"Dorian," she said. "You are supposed to be downstairs. Not talking to a servant." She had always seen servants as inferior beings.
"Mother, don't call her servant, she has a name," he said. "I ask you to treat her with more respect."
"Don't talk to me in that way," she said. "I am your mother, and the queen. Now, you are coming with me to the party. Servant, you come too. But if you speak a word to my son, I will thoroughly think about dismissing you." -
Libra lowered her head and nodded. "I understand, mistress."
-
Dorian sighed and then the three of them went to the ballroom together. By the time they had gotten there, Dorian had regained his composure, and didn't look like any of the unfortunate things Libra had described him as before.
-
Libra didn’t say a word and guiltily hung her head the whole way there. She did notice that Dorian looked a lot better than before. Good.
-
After Dorian had greeted everyone of noble status there, had a few dances with various princesses, and other things that are expected of a prince, he was rather bored. He saw Libra by herself and walked over to her. "Care to dance?" he asked.
