"I already have enough money," Lucien countered. "Plus, I don’t have to shoot you to hold you ransom. I think some alone time would do you good." He strutted out of the room and shut the door. Truth be told, he didn’t know what exactly he was going to do with Lynn's doppelgänger. But suddenly, an idea sparked inside his head. Hmmm... everyone's always pushing me to get hooked up with someone...
-
Angelica stares after Lucien until he left the room. She quietly got up and tried not to make any noise while looking around. She had to find a way out! She most definitely wasn’t going to stay cooped up inside of the room.
-
Lucien knew she would get restless and try to figure a way out not long after he'd left her. Fortunately, he had left cameras scattered across the room in overlooked nooks and crannies. He crept back into the room and watched her from a distance, careful not to alert her to his presence. She would never have to know. Luckily, all Angelica appeared to be doing was looking around. However, Lucien was paranoid. He never underestimated anyone. Lucien knew that many people were capable of shooting a gun.
-
Angelica looked everywhere for a way to escape. There were only bookshelves, a closet, a desk, and a window. Wait, a window? Her eyes lit up as she climbed onto the desk and lifted the window up.
-
Lucien tapped her on the shoulder, gently enough to not hurt her but enough for her to know that he was there. "Please don’t try to escape," he intoned. "Instead, I would like to talk to you about something." His shoulders relaxed just a little.
-
Angelica looked at him, and then the window. Window, Lucien, window, Lucien, window...
She finally turned to face Lucien. “What do you want to talk about?” She asked with a defeated sigh. -
"Look, I’ll let you go," Lucien began. Glancing at Angelica, he could almost feel the excitement resounding within her. "On one condition," he continued, staring at her with a cold gleam in his eyes. "If you do not acquiesce to this condition, I'm afraid you'll have to stay in here forever." Pleasantly, he continued, knowing he had won. You could feel his arrogance radiating. "What do you say?"
-
Angelica huffed in annoyance. “Go ahead and tell me.” She said, glaring at him with her big blue eyes.
-
"You be my girlfriend, and I’ll let you go." Lucien's eyes seemed to stare right through her.
-
Her eyes looked at him in shock and her jaw dropped. “Y-you want me to be your girlfriend?!” She exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air.
-
"Well, it's quite nice in here with a comfy bed. You could spend eternity in here," Lucien said, showing her the possibilities.
-
-
Angelica rolled her eyes. “Pardon me, but I don’t think a room with grey walls, a rotting bookshelf, and a creaky mattress is comfortable. It honestly looks like something out of a horror movie.” She said, shuddering at the thought of a horror movie she had once watched.
-
"I was being sarcastic," Lucien clarified. "So, what’ll it be?" He knew he had her cornered. Really, there was only one option. Secretly, if she wouldn’t become his girlfriend, he would shoot her. What was she good for if not being his girlfriend? The possibilities were endless. Also, he could just keep her in the room forever, against her will. Technically, it wasn’t really illegal, just really boring for Angelica. And besides, the police were already looking for him. What could it hurt to commit another crime?
-
She sighed. “I would so kill you right now if I could.” She muttered. “Fine. I accept your challenge. I’ll be your girlfriend.” She said quietly.
