“What about your first?” He asked. He got into the car and started it up.

"Let's just say I moved out on my birthday because I didn't want to be around her," she said.

Turner’s eyes widened as he realized what she meant. “Well, off to the house then.” He said, changing the subject.

"What about your mother?" Callyn asked as she looked out the window in thought. "What's she like?"

Turner had a sad, faraway look in his eyes. “She died a few years ago. She was a really good singer and dancer. When she danced, it was really majestic. When she sang, it was like you were in another world.” He said. Tears came to his eyes.

"I'm sorry," Callyn said. "I shouldn't have asked."

“I shouldn’t have asked about your mother, so I guess we’re even.” He said, slightly smiling.

"Fair enough," Callyn said with a small smile.

Turner pulled into the driveway of his house and went inside to put on a shirt. He came back out and got into the car.

"You remember the address?" Callyn asked.

“Yes.” He said. He looked at the address she had given him and started driving.

"I must ask, have you ever had a churro?" she asked.

“No, I’ve had a funnel cake though.” He replied.

"Funnel cake is nothing close to this," Callyn said with a shake of her head. "They're like long thin pieces of heaven."

“It sounds like it’s your favorite food.” He said, stopping at a red light.
