He smiled warmly at her and waved. Jax snapped Maxie's leash back on and led him back to the house. "Hey, Mom. Yeah, I finished that science homework. Oh, take the trash out? Okay."

Jax took the trash out reluctantly and scribbled down a few answers for his math homework, which luckily was just a true-false worksheet. Jax texted Aspen as soon as he could; wanna go 2 th movies w/ me 2night? or u busy (not date lmao, just a fun thing)
