(I’d actually like to continue this if you’re still up for it? I’m out of going to school irl for at least another week or two, and I’m not struggling with any math like I thought I would).
-
“About six inches, and they’re permanent,” Elise chuckled. She grinned and said, “But I'm kidding.” She sniffled to herself, realizing how stupid and senseless her joke was.
-
(Of course)
"Well, nonetheless, we shall brave the treacherous thorns to see this hideout of yours," Alex said. -
“Come with me,” Elise whispered, reaching out her hand to Alex.
-
-
Alex took her hand and followed her.
-
Elise took a deep breath as they took their last step out of the woods... and into something magical.
It was like a garden, almost fairy-like. Beautiful trees and flowers grew all over the lush fields. Trees were adorned with moss and white roses, and tulips sprouted from the earth beneath. There was even a lake, separating the whimsical place from the rest of the wood. -
"Whoa," was all Alex was able to say. It was breathtaking.
-
“I come here when I feel lonely,” Elise said finally. She realized how depressing it sounded, so she decided to add, “But I don’t think I’m lonely today...” She smiled warmly at Alex.
-
"I'm glad," Alex said. "You should never be lonely."
-
“There’s just something... There’s something about this place,” Elise sighed. She released Alex’s hand from her grasp. “Like magic or something...”
-
"I agree, it looks as if pixies could pop out at any time," Alex said. "It also feels safe."
-
“Safe,” Elise whispered. The word slipped so gracefully off of her tongue. It had been a while since she had felt safe, but in this moment, she was.
-
"So do you have a name for this place?" Alex asked.
-
“No,” Elise smiled sweetly. “But I was hoping you could help me name it,” She grabbed Alex’s hand again and ran towards the river.
