"It's not," Adrian said. He rocked her gently back and forth in his arms

"Yes it is!" she insisted.

"Jewel, you know you can't lie to me," Adrian whispered.

"It's nothing, really." she said.

"I don't care," Adrian said, his voice soothing. "Why are you crying?"

"I was just thinking about something." She said.

"Tell me," he said softly

"Why don't you just read my mind and see?" she said.

"Because it's better to tell someone than think it," Adrian said.

"I was just thinking of the past, I guess it snuck up on me." Jewel said.

Adrian gently stroked her hair. "It's alright," he said

"I know, I know. I just need to let the stupid thing go." Jewel mumbled.

"Well whatever you do you can always come to me," Adrian said.

Jewel gave him a small smile. "Thanks, are you feeling better?" she asked.
