"Then we would gain money," Bolt said, "and the dog meets whatever fate the buyer intends for it to have." -
"Well that's rude," Alpha said with a huff. "But I guess we don't have a choice. How about instead of me giving you my emotions, we could just get you a new chip?"

"I was under the impression you wanted to be rid of your emotions," Bolt said.

"I don't want my wires to be fiddled around with," Alpha said as an excuse. In reality, he didn't appreciate his emotions very much, yes. But he preferred to have them, because without his emotions, he would no longer have his moral code, his understanding of humans, and most importantly: a will of his own. Emotions gave him the ability to resist and the desire to rebel.

(Desire isn't necessarily an emotion, and Bolt has a will of his own. Otherwise he wouldn't have opened up Alpha's cell.)
"That is understandable," Bolt said. "But remember, these people know almost just as much as our creator does. I highly doubt any damage will be done." -
Alpha doesn't know that, but in his mind, passion is an emotion. Without it, he wouldn't have such a fiery temper and would probably lose a huge aspect of himself))
"Sometimes, emotions can be used for weaponry purposes. I had no use for them alone in my cell, but when surrounded by humans, it is almost necessary to keep your wits and emotions at ready," Alpha said. -

Bolt nodded. "I see," he said. He led Alpha to the room where he was building the robotic dog. -
"What will you call this one?" Alpha asked, examining the contraption.

"I do not know yet," Bolt said. "Perhaps it will pick its own name?"

"Perhaps," Alpha mused. "Can you turn it on."

"Not yet," Bolt said. He bent over the dog and began working on it again.

Alpha sat down in a rickety wooden chair nearby and tapped his foot impatiently. "When will it be finished?"

"These things take time," Bolt said, taking a metal tool and doing something techy with some thin wires.
