Katherine walked into the old house. She had been told many mysterious things about it. She and her curious mind were either going to prove them right or wrong.
She felt an odd rippling sensation around her as she crossed the threshold. The hairs on her arms stood up.
The house had obviously been abandoned long ago, and wasn't very big. But you could imagine a day in the life of the people who used to live here. The living room had faded curtains on the grimy windows, a sofa on one wall, and a series of mismatched chairs on the other wall. There was also a fireplace there. -
James was in his favorite room; the one that seemed to have previously belonged to a baby boy. All of the cute stuffed animals, toys, and decorations made him feel safe. James picked up a ball, when he heard footsteps. James can't remember the last time someone willingly entered the house, knowing about its history. He decided to go downstairs by descending from the little boy's room. He didn't see anyone in the kitchen, and decided to peek his head into the living room.
When he saw the girl, he immediately floated back upstairs into his safe room. James knew the girl would go into the room at some point, but for now, he needed time to play with some of the toys to calm him down. He picked up the ball once again, but this time, started throwing it across the room. -
Katherine heard noise in the silent house coming from upstairs. She could look through the rest of the main floor later, couldn't she? She found the staircase and walked up them. She flinched at the few of the stairs that creaked. "Hello?" she called to wherever the sound was coming from.
-
James, afraid, thought he could scare the woman away. He went into the bathroom, and flushed the toilet multiple times, and put the water in the shower on. He started to flicker the lights in the bathroom.
-
This just made Katherine curious. She made her way into the bathroom. Who was there? Why was someone here in an abandoned house? There's be more signs of use if someone lived here.
-
The hot water created steam onto the mirror. The girl was not taking the hint, so he decided to leave a message. James wrote 'go away' onto the mirror, the handwriting was very childish, as it was his own, but he hoped that was enough.
-
Katherine stared as the words 'go away' appeared on the mirror, not seeming to come from any source. What was this? She took a small step further into the bathroom to face the mirror.
-
As much as James didn't want to show himself, he thought that if she went to the mirror, and he appeared there, it would be enough for the girl to leave. He waited in a position to where he'd be just in the background. James wasn't going to show himself until she went in.
James saw her take a step, so he assumed she'd go in. -
Katherine walked all the way into the bathroom and looked straight into the mirror. She thought she saw something in the unfogged part, where the words were? She turned around, and saw nothing but an old towel hanging up. She leaned over the sink and wiped off the moisture with her sleeve.
-
Now was the time. James showed himself to the girl. Knife in head, blood on his face, his cold, dead, eyes staring at the girl. "I told you to go away." He calmly spoke. "Why are you still here?" James asked, with annoyance in his voice.
