"That's awful," Amelia said. "You shouldn't have to go back to that."
-
He stood silent, before replying with a lowly voice; "No, trust me, it'll be okay. I deserve it, and nobody can argue with that. Sometimes, life offers things to pay for your bad decisions, and I respect that. I've heard there's fresher water and more fruit batches, too, so that'll be great."
-
"You can't have deserved it when you lived there before, though," Amelia said.
-
"How many people have I murdered, Amelia?" He challenged. "How many people have I cut short from their lives? How many families have I made miserable, due to the one person who was killed by me?" He dropped to a lower voice; "How many?"
-
"I meant before that," Amelia said quietly. "Before you were an Imposter."
-
He sighed. "Life just knew what would come to be." With the final word, he then grew silent.
-
"I won't believe that," Amelia said. "If Life knew that it would also know that you wouldn't want to kill.
-
He said nothing more, only stared outside the window whilst mumbling to himself.
-
Amelia put her arm around his shoulders and leaned her head on the one that was closer to her. "You've done so much for me," she said. "You're such a special person."

He blushed slightly, before responding; "You're more special than one could ever be. I think you've done more for me than I have for you. Thank you so much." -
"I only helped you," Amelia said. "You did most of the work."
-
He glanced up at her. "Most of the work I did was murder. Most of the work you did is forgive. I am fatefully grateful... You've changed me so much."
-
"You should come to Nebraska with me," Amelia said. "I have a spare bedroom. You'll have a home to go to."
-
He was tempted to say 'yes', but instead, all that cam out was a 'no'.
"I'm sorry, Amelia," He spoke softly. "But I deserve what I deserve, and I regret what I regret. I'm fine on my own." -
""When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us,"" Amelia quoted.
