Matteo was venturing through the wilderness of the Angeles National Forest trying to get away from the eyes of the empire. He rests upon a a tree to take a smoke from a cigar. He only just recently figured out how much distressed the Empire of California has towards people from the FCU considering it was on the other side of the continent he never really knew much about it. He takes a large puff from the cigar thinking about life back home. Thanks to the place he was born the tobacco that he got was always the finest and freshest due to Tobacco being a natural cash crop of the FC can you manage to stockpile up on it before moving. It saddened him that he had to leave his brother behind the very person that he saved from dying through his long fishing career but thanks to his long fishing career he managed to end up pretty wealthy compared to the rest of the FC.

Gabriella sat in a tavern that was close to the edge of town. The wooden cup in her hand filled with warm frothy beer. She took a huge swig and sat the cup back down on the table. Today, she was wearing a black tunic, with a hood. She had it on, just in case anyone recognized her, and if they did she always carried a short knife sheathed on her side. As she waited she tapped her boot on the wooden floor, humming an old folk tune ballad.
She took another swig of her beer and listened to the folks milling about her. There was the usual: parents complaining about children, men and women drinking away the sorrow of a lost relationship and most importantly, the group of soldiers in the back getting plastered out of their head, talking about citizenship and keeping the leader of this lovely nation off theur backs. -
Bumping for viola

Matteo was closing his eyes while taking another puff of his cigar exhaling it out releasing a great deal of smoke then but then a minute later from behind a man put a gun up to his head. "Apparently you never got the memo servidor. your Fondos belongs to us" he said with a snide attitude. At this Matteo dropped his cigar in suprise and opened his eyes. "Part of me wants to ask how you found me but I assume that The Syndicate has people all over and it just so happens that the FC is just its headquarters are but you made a mistake coming here. from where I'm standing it feels like a Magnums Barrel has made contact with my head. Not a very quiet one are you" after saying this he cut off his conversation and instantly disarmed his enemy pummeling his face in before picking up his gun and pulling the trigger on the man. The sound pierced his ears as he pulled the trigger. he then wiped the dust off of himself and stared at the dead body "shouldn't have made me drop my cigar. These things cost a lot of money not that it would matter too much to me but I only have so many from my homeland" Matteo then kicks at the dirt keeping the Magnum he found for himself.
He then begin to walk away from the body to find a new space to have a smoke. He had no idea that The Syndicate would track him all the way across the remains of the United States. He was even less aware of how much noise the shot made. "What a waste.." -

The doors to the tavern opened, and the thud of rubber boots could be heard making their way across the floor. Gabriella turned her head slightly to see a well built muscular man. He had tattoos on his fist and right arm. He made his way over to the bar, and sat next to her. Neither of them talked, but both under stood. The man slipped her a yellow envelope, then proceeded to order a shot of Fireball. "Times a wastin', especially for a pretty thang like you." His words were drawn out, but they carried importance. He was saying she had to leave, and fast.
She put her money on the counter, and signaled the bartender to take it, then made her way outside. It was getting close to mid-day, so she had to be on her way. She had to find a safe place to open the package, and the only one she could think of was the forest. -
She heard a noise she had her hand on her pocket. a tiny bird she felt stupid that she got nervous about a bird but nothings save anymore

Matteo rested upon another tree not too far from where he left the body. That was his first time ever killing a man he pulled out his phone to take his mind off of it and as soon as he turned it on he saw an emergency broadcast from the Empire's government appear in a message talking about another terrorist attack in a governmental building in San Francisco. And that they've already put their front lines on the northern and Northeast border. "I've got my own guerra ya cali officials" he sighs as he puts his phone back in his pocket. He knows that The Syndicate knows where he is now and that they're going to find out one of their good men have been killed after they were sent to go find him. The most envious people he has ever known would kill to have the money that he has. Now the only firearm and that he has is a Magnum with 5 rounds in it. He doesn't know a whole lot about guns. He's a fisherman for crying out loud so he was going to have to learn how to use one if he intended on Surviving he decided to test his Marksmanship by aiming at a tree in the distance.
He spun the barrel of rounds in his revolver and aim down the sights at the tree. Counting down from ten he pulled the trigger barely even hitting the tree, just scraping the side of it. He knew he had a lot to learn and probably would need a more reliable firearm but as far as he was aware the Empire of California wouldn't allow immigrants to purchase weapons. You have to find someone who'd be willing to actors offense of some sort. He didn't mind paying extra if that was what was needed. -
