Blake nodded, showing his agreement. “Well, it’s pretty late. Maybe we camp out in the woods? Find a cave or something?” -
Maddison slowly dropped her hands, nodding as well. "That sounds like a good idea. Lead the way, handsome." She smiled at him, moving to lace their fingers together.

Blake gripped Madison's fingers tightly and made a promise to himself to never let go. He began to walk, pulling her with him. He spotted a dark cliff looming out of the darkness and pointed. "There might be some caves under the cliff," he said.

Maddison stayed close to Blake, keeping up with his pace. She squinted in the direction he was pointing. "You think so? That's worth a shot! A cave would be perfect."

Blake, hugging Maddison to keep her warm, nodded absentmindedly. "I just hope they're big enough. Sometimes the caves are barely big enough for a small animal to get inside."

Maddison made a face, tracing her finger along his arm. "Luckily, I won't take up too much space. I'm not exactly big, Blake." She looked up at him, grinning. "Maybe you'll be the one having to sleep outside of the cave, huh?"

Blake grinned. "I hope not." He stepped forward, eyes searching. "Oh, look!" He pointed at a medium-sized crack in the cliff near the bottom. "It looks big enough, all we gotta do is climb up!" He turned to her, his eyes bright with hope. "Then, our new lives together begin."
(So, they go into the cave and...find a portal...?) -
(Yup, that's the game plan! I'm still trying to figure out what they should encounter on the other side. Do you have any ideas?)
Maddison sighed in relief when Blake pointed out the crack. It definitely looked like they would both fit. She leaned over to kiss his cheek, bracing herself for the climb. "I'm so ready for this." -
Blake grinned and waited for Maddison to get high enough up so he wouldn't mess up her ascent, then started climbing after her.

Maddison made it to the crack in a decent amount of time. She sat on the edge, taking a moment to regain her strength and breathe a little.

Blake clambered onto the ledge behind her and sat beside her, letting her rest. After a few moments, he took her hand. "Ready?" he inquired gently.

Maddison looked over at him, inhaling deeply and nodding. "I'm ready. Let's go."

Blake smiled and stood up, turning towards the mouth of the cave, taking a deep breath. "This is where our life begins." he whispered to himself.

Maddison stood up as well, suddenly a bit nervous. She waited for a split second before saying, "How about you go first? I'll be right behind, of course."

Blake nodded. "Okay. Sounds good." He began edging into the dim cave, looking around for any animals and such.
