Violet sat on the tall kitchen counter, where they had set down a few barstools. She reached for her phone and shot Camryn a text, [i]You’re late, where are u?[\i]
-
Camryn ignoring the buzz she felt on her side, knowing it’d be Violet, as she listened to her father’s lecture.
“-and remember, Camryn, if anything happens, call me.”
Camryn nodded and grabbed her bag. “See ya, Dad!” she called and shut the car door and knocked on Violet’s front door. -
Violet sighed with relief, it had been awkward being in the house all by herself. The girl opened the door and grinned at her friend, “Finally! You’re here!”
-
Camryn smiled at Violet. “Sorry, my dad wanted to talk to me.” She stepped inside and closed the door behind her. “So...whatcha wanna do?”
-
With a sly smirk, Violet revealed a pillow she had hidden near the door. She held it up, “Pillow fight?”
-
Camryn grinned. “Why’d you have to ask?” She squealed and ran past Violet and up the stairs leading to Violet’s bedroom to get a pillow of her own.
-
Violet followed and threw her pillow at Camryn’s head as soon as they ran into her room.
-
Camryn was hit with the pillow and she fell, giggling, onto the bed. She lay for a second to regain her composure, then grabbed the pillow and chucked it at Violet's knees.
-
“Ouch! My kneecaps are very sensitive you know!” She giggled as she hit her in the stomach with her fluffy pillow.
-
-
Finally, after throwing pillows back and forth for a while, Camryn was exhausted. "Let's take a break for a bit," she said, gasping. She collapsed onto the bed and pulled out her phone.
-
Violet set her pillow down and picked up her phone, which was sitting on her desk just a few feet away. She tapped at screen, “Huh, it’s dead. I’m pretty sure it was 100% a few minutes ago...”
-
"Tuff," Camryn muttered, pressing the power button on her phone as well. "Should've charged..." She frowned. "Hey, mine is dead too! I knew that I charged it before I left..."
-
“Phones are dumb sometimes.” Violet commented placing her phone back on the desk and pulling a book from the shelf, while turning off her light stand replacing the overhead light with a lamp’s light.
“Now we’ll have to use books to entertain ourselves.” She groaned, flipping through the pages as the light suddenly flickered off. -
"Yup," Camryn responded. "Books? Alright, I can-" She sighed exasperatedly. "What is going on?" She stood up and walked over to the light switch, flicking it off and on again.
"Violet, I think your light bulb went out or something. I'll go get a new one. They're in the hall closet, right?"
