Ember shrugged. "I have no idea, but I'm pretty sure it'll know." She tapped her fingers on the table nervously and excitedly.
Hunter yawned. "When will this thing be over?" -
"Candlelight, Almond," a voice echoed after a procession of other kids.
Ivy watched curiously. -
I used a name generator, if you were wondering why the names were so weird.))
Almond's eyes widened with shock. Me...it's me. My turn to become a true wizard. He got to his feet, walking up towards the Sorting Hat.
The hat was placed on his head, and Almond could hear it murmuring. "Hmm...definitely want to be a Hufflepuff, " -
Ember tilted her head curiously as a new kid walked up to the stool and put the sorting hat on their head. "What house do you think they'll be in?" Ember asked Ivy.
-
"But the ambition inside you speaks for Slytherin. And you do have the slightest bit of bravery, as a true Gryffindor would. Well, your house is...Ravenclaw!"
Almond stood frozen in shock.m No. Anything but Ravenclaw. I'm not smart or anything. I'd rather be brave with Gryffindor, or even evil with Slytherin. And can't the hat understand that I'm pure Hufflepuff? Why!? -
Ember clapped as the kid was chosen for Ravenclaw. She sighed and leaned back. "Well, that's one kid closer to our turn!"
-
Almond stumbled down toward all the watching faces.
Autumn gave the kid an annoyed expression. Deal with your house. It's not the hardest thing in life. -
"He doesn't look very happy," Ivy said. "I don't think he wanted that house."
LATER...
"Patterstone, Ivy!"
Ivy forced herself to go up and sit on the stool, scrunching up her eyes and preparing for the worst.
"You've got a good deal of bravery," the hat said. "As well as a hard-working attitude and a cunning nature. But above all, you have a clever mind and an ambitious heart. Better be...RAVENCLAW!"
Ivy almost cried with relief. She wouldn't be letting her family down! -
Autumn practically fell asleep while watching everybody else.
-
Ember grinned and clapped for Ivy as she joined the Ravenclaw table. Then she jumped as the hat called her name next. Already? she thought as she walked up slowly to sit on the stool.
"You're smart, and you desire to join Ravenclaw. But your bravery and loyalty...hmm, yes, difficult. Difficult indeed. Well, you belong in...GRYFFINDOR!"
Ember sighed and jumped up off the stool to join the Gryffindor table before shooting a bittersweet smile at Ivy. -
*when you forget that you have to be responsible for your roleplays*))
Harbor watched the Sorting Hat split lines between the students, not real lines of course. Friends shot eachother sweet, but sad smiles from their tables, which made her a little sad. -
Hunter grinned and welcomed Ember to the Gryffindor table.
"Hey! Welcome! You're gonna have so much fun here!" He looked at her face more closely and noticed she didn't look very happy. "What's wrong?"
"Oh," Ember sighed. "Nothing, I just wanted to be in Ravenclaw. My new friend went there and I really thought that we would've gone to the same house. I just...I really connected with her, y'know?" -
Chris sighed. "Yeah, I know how you feel. But don't let the distance keep you two from being friends."
Ivy looked crestfallen. Her only friend was in another house. -
Autumn saw that more and more kids were disappointed with their house. Was I like that with Slytherin?
-
A 13 yr. old Ravenclaw looked at Ivy and Almond. "Don't worry guys, it isn't so bad," she reassured them. "We're not all books and boredom! We run experiments, do cool things, pull pranks on each other, etc. It's really fun!"
"But my friend is in another house," Ivy said. "And I don't want to be in here. I want to be in Gryffindor, with her."
